    ABS fault

Hi, I never got a chance to fully charge the battery to find out. I failed the MOT due to this so had to change out the sensor which cured all the problems.
  2. Hi, My ABS fault light came on along with DSC not available. The car was due its MOT and failed because of this. I drove it to an electrical specialist who diagnosed a faulty abs Sensor on one of the rear wheels. I went to pick up the part from Jaguar and on the way a new light saying gearbox fault came on. The car clunked and jolted every time I put it into gear. Anyway they fitted the new sensor and all problems went away with no new gearbox required.
  3. Hi, When I came home from holiday my battery was flat. I suspect it was the dash cam that drained it. Anyway after getting going with jump leads and driving for an hour the ABS fault light came on followed by D.SC. not available. Has anyone experienced this and could it be related to the flat battery?
  4. I have just replaced my battery and like Relph above I sheared the bolt. The job turned in to a long protracted affair since I struggled to get the old battery past the retaining clamp due to the bolt being sheared and even worse getting the new one in. So if anyone is changing their battery then they need to remove the nut from the bottom of the bolt mentioned. This is accessed from underneath the car.
  5. Many thanks gents. I will check out the battery.
  6. Hi, My car was recently parked for 4 weeks while I was away without the engine being turned over. When I returned the battery was flat. There wasn't even enough left to unlock the doors with the remote. I got jump leads and the car started no problem. I had 50 miles to drive home so by then the battery was charged again. The next day when I started the car and went to drive I noticed the parking sensors audible alarm was going off continuously until I had built up speed. When I stopped at a junction with nothing in front they would go off again. It wasn't intermittent but a continuous noise. When I turned off the parking sensors the noise stopped but no good for a long term solution. Any ideas or suggestions folks?

    Dash cam

Hi, I got Halford's to hard wire in to to the fuse box. The camera is live all the time even when parked. It senses if the car battery is running low and turns off if so. All in all I am very pleased with the results and quality of the video it takes. Does anyone know if it's worth notifying the insurance company to see if I can get any kind of discount?

    Dash cam

Thanks gents. If I went for hard wire do you know which fuse box it ties in to?
  10. Has anyone fitted a dash cam and if so has it been hard wired into the fuse box?
  11. My S-type is in the garage just now to try and fix this problem. It has been there for 5 days now and still not resolved. I would say that 8 times out of 10 it is not showing the correct reading. The needle is even at the 6 o'clock position at times. But typical of any intermittent faults it is working every time the garage investigates. Watch this space.
  12. Thanks Russ. I have ordered touch up paint from Amazon. I will let you know how it goes?
  13. Hi, I was polishing the car yesterday and noticed areas of chipping on the front spoiler. It appears to be white underneath the grey paint. Can anyone recommend a decent touch up paint and method of repair?
