  1. Jaguar 3.8S for sale. Has been garaged for 35yrs. so now is rusty, especially sills. However, engine was functioning normally when garaged after trip to south of France (due to arrival of baby sons - no room for carrycots etc.). Paint (silver-grey) now dull & peeling in some areas. Leather upholstery reasonably intact, but will need polishing. Likewise wooden facias and trimmings. Tyres intact, but wheel trims rusty. Nothing specific missing (have a spare inlet manifold/carburettors, and spare radiator), but rubber door seals all perished. Please see photos attached. Recorded mileage - 92,616. Would need to be taken away on a trailor, or be towed once rear brake pads loosened (front brakes pads have been freed). Have mislaid V5C document, but have applied for replacement to authenticate registration details. Based in Beckenham, S.E. London. For further details contact : clintonjefferies@aol.com
  2. Thank you both very much ! Would appear the "Car no." is the chassis or VIN number equivalent, so will give this a try ! Cheers ! Clintonio
  3. My old 3.8S has been in a garage for about 30 years, and I've lost the registration document. To apply for a new/replacement V5C you have to submit the "VIN, chassis or frame number" - which are these ?!! The plate inside the engine compartment lists the Engine number, the Automatic Transmisson number, the Car number, and the Body number (named in that manner) - so which shall I submit ? When I telephoned their enquiries number, they couldn't help me - and at £25 per application - which they will reject if not correct ! - I would rather send in the correct identity number the first time ! Would be grateful for info from anyone who has a similar model/year 3.8S as to which number they have on their registration document, when compared with the numbers on their engine compartment plate . Thank you !
