  1. Considering going however when I mentioned it to my other half, she said won’ You feel silly amongst all the mk2 and E types. My question is do people go in more modern Jags. Mine is a 2007 X350.
  2. Have you bought the car ? I think with a car that is getting on for 50 there will always be a few gaps in its history. If you haven’t I would get it inspected by someone who really knows what they are looking at because I am sure it is a major investment. And beware of rust and poor repairs to previous corrosion issues. If you have bought it put up some pics
  3. I think that is a X300 not an XJ40 .
  4. I think the E type is just the most beautiful car but I would also love to own one of the last XJ12 saloons. Grace, Pace and space in abundance.
  5. On my 2007 XJ Sovereign I have an intermittent fault with the NS door mirror not always folding out upon starting. I sometimes have to use the override switch several times to make it fully open. Does anyone have an idea how easy this is to fix, does it need a new motor or can the gears this must run on be charged
  6. I agree with the other comments, it will cost you more to upgrade than buying one in a better spec. You will never be happy with it which would be a shame. There are loads of SE and Sovereigns for sale. I used to have a sport model with half leather sports seats which I found really uncomfortable and looked into changing the interior but it was just not worth it. We also used to have a SE which was fine.
  7. I have had my XJ serviced by WinSpeed motor sport 148 Broad Street, Wood Street Village, Guildford GU3 3BJ 01483 537706. They are classic and modern Jaguar engineers. Some really beautiful cars around the place XK 120 XK 140 and E types a plenty. Jay who looks after the modern cars is a really personable guy who exudes competence and knowledge. Real enthusiasts whom I would recommend.
  8. Well just as well you don't have a Ford XF or is it a Jaguar Mondeo
  9. I have ordered mats for both my old X type and my current XJ and they are good quality and fit perfectly. Do the car justice and go fir their top quality.
  10. I have also had problems with my 2007 XJ EPB. Mine locked on after a series of cold nights and very short journeys so I put it down to a battery issue. I contacted the garage I bought the car from. I told them I had fully charged the battery. They told me to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes. This was done. Result parking brake working properly and best of all the radio settings etc. All saved.
  11. I think it is 2012 I think it is the same as my 2007 XJ I got one on line for £20 something when Jaguar wanted about £160. All works really well and installed without a hitch.
  12. If you are worried about fuel economy etc. Buy something else but if you want a really lovely car you buy with your heart and have a passion for go for the XK. You will love it.
  13. Hi Fred any luck yet with cushions etc.

  15. I am not sure it sounds like the disc. I believe that some of the earlier models only accept Cd rather than the later DVD. I got some £25 copies of the 2012 version from eBay for my 2007 XJ which I believe has the same system as the S type and they loaded ok.
