Gary,

The bluetooth option is superb....as I've had it fitted by paul Raistlin and I've had no issues at all.

voice is also something I did not have but now have partially and again it is great if you like gadgets. It is something you will use more than you think if you have it.

paul is a fountain of knowledge on both subjects and will be of great help.

good luck and please update if you proceed as its a subject many are interested in.

Gary, please PM me your e-mail address. I want to send you some installation documents for your retro-fit.

DOn't worry, I'm not going to abandon you to sort it out for yourself. They contain some good line drawings of locations though.

Not yet, had cambelt and service during week, plus replaced some door seals this weekend and did some work for my daughter, need some time with the car ! . I am off next weekend so will do it then as I have nothing else planned. Can't wait to get it done, work always seems to get in the way!  I will post as soon as it is done and let you know how I get on.

Thanks Paul

well  i don't know why it isn't working, no cdc bluetooth or voice  , will have a look again tomorrow must be the optical connector although sat nav seems to work, I have not taken it on road yet to see if map reads ok, will try that in a few minutes

does the voice only have one electrical connector  in it

Yes Gary, it is also used in other applications but the connection you have there is exactly right for the S-Type.

Does the CDC select and does the cartridge button work?

What happens when you press the Voice button?

There is no voice guidance with the sat nav, cdc, doesn't select when CPC pressed, you can eject cartridge, still mutes volume when voice control pressed, it must be the optical lead I have, must have a fault in it somewhere. Have tried switching each one on in the audio diagnostics, but when switched off and then on they are not showing as selected in the menu. Will look at it again with fresh eyes tomorrow if I get time.

When voice button pressed it says same as before mute,  CDC worked great before, so did the voice guidance .

I was under the impression that you had just fitted Voice Gary

yes, I meant the turn instructions on the route guidance couldn't be heard . Just gone over all the optical connections and found a broken connector, (no bit inside connector) , replaced that wire with one off my old loom and hey presto all working.

On the plus side voice control has , radio , climate , cd, cd changer phone and navigation all activated!  So everything on my car is now voice controlled. It recognises my voice very well, must be the Birmingham accent!

Thank you very much for your help with this  Paul, couldn't have done it without you, it was well worth doing😎
