Jaguars lead classics under starters’ orders
A fascinating and diverse selection of cars, motorcycles and automobilia are lined up for Barons’ Jaguar Heritage, Classic Cars & Motorcycles Auction at Kempton Park race course on Saturday 17th September 2016.
In the lead are two E-type Fixed Head Coupés, an immaculate 1964 3.8 ‘Fast Road’ (£80,000-£100,000) and a 1968 Series 1.5 (£70,000-£85,000.). The ‘Fast Road’ emerged last year from a two-year, comprehensive and exceptionally high quality rebuild, while the 1.5 is in superb original condition. Its last three owners have all worked for Jaguar Cars.
Another stunning example of the Jaguar marque comes in the form of the 1948 MkIV. This very handsome motor car was originally registered to Jaguar Cars Limited, and was built for Mr A Whittaker, Jaguar Cars’ Chairman, who specified some unusual features such as the pigskin interior. It is presented in near-concours condition, following a very well pictorially documented restoration which started in 1982 and was completed 22 years later. Estimate value is between £50,000-£60,000.
Automobilia entries include many desirable Jaguar-related items, such as the rarely available 1950s gold placed Jaguar Director’s desk piece (£100-£150) and several porcelain enamelled advertising signs.
