Pet Hates while Driving.

Recommended Posts

Things I hate most when I am driving.

Tailgating is the obvious one,  and a similar hate is when overtaking a line of traffic at a reasonable speed - and within the speed limit, -- the idiot who comes up fast behind you flashing his headlights, when he can see that I can't pull in because of the line of traffic inside and when there is nowhere to go because of the line of traffic in front.

Using a mobile phone while on the move.  Unneccesary.  What happened before they were invented?

Throwing things out of the window --  usually cigarette butts, often still burning -- while on the move.

Very loud music with the windows down.

Hogging the driving lanes when the inside lane is empty.

People who stop two yards over the halt line at traffic lights.

Drivers who  go round islands very fast.  They are also the same people who drive quickly through car parks.

And there are probably more.

Peter.

Peter,

All the ones you said, plus :

Dealerships with their overpricing and downright lies

People who indicate a sixteenth of an inch away from a corner

People who park right up your backside

Tractors

Buses

Lorries

Caravans

Horses  (what are fields for ? )

Passengers who fidget

Passengers who won't shut up

Paying to park

My extortionate road tax

People who don't dip their headlights

People in front of you who get petrol then take an eternity to pay

The dog in the car

General bad road manners

Remarks from the great unwashed such as:

" How can you afford a car like that? "

" I bet the insurance is dear on that "

" My VW Golf devil's fuel does 130 MPG"

" It is just a poor mans Aston Martin"

People who don't realise i'm always right

Just people really .

People who take me too serioulsy

ATB,

Trevor

Charlie,

Women and cars don't seem to match, if mine whines I just stop at a bus stop and tell her her choices .

The "silent treatment" you lucky so and so !, mine just doesn't shut up (it's part of her illness), she talks so much that her tongue blisters (really) and it's the part of her that gets sun burnt easiest .

You would win if you told her who was boss Charlie !

Charlie,

The Jags are better than Mercedes . My friend's wife works for Mercedes in Nottingham and can get me one trade price. Had a look but didn't think they were a patch on my (at the time) XJ Supersport .

There is no pleasing women, they know as much about cars as they do about the offside rule.

Mine now thinks the XKR is fab. Mainly because when filling up with petrol for my trip to London village I mistakenly got caught up in a festival of music and arts, which was opposite the garage, which was packed with peeps buying food and drinks and stuff .

They were all raving over the Jag and telling her how lucky she was to own one, so she now likes it, and has gone off Ferraris  .

All the punters wanted to have a sit in the car, but the wife told them it was a vegetarian free zone !

Trevor

Mike,

It is extremely low (it panics the doctor, especially after my flat lining).

And here's another gripe young man.

Going to London village tomorrow for the first time in 30 years to see my daughter awarded her doctorate at the Barbican centre .

I pay £475 a year road tax .

They are charging me:

£11-50 congestion charge

£12-50 to park there for four hours

£25 to get in to see my daughter her her award .

But on the plus side I can open up the taps on the A 303 early doors

ATB,

Trevor

P.S. Don't

t take me too seriously

Early morning A303, I remember it well. I used to live near the other end 15 years ago, near Newbury.

That should make up for the rest, surely? As long as it's caravan free.

Cheers

Mike

P.S I do like being called "young man"
