Hi guys (and gals). I'm a newby having picked up my 54 plate Xtype 2.0d in British racing green. Already love it to bits although have a couple of minor issues. Cd changer in boot will not start. I can eject the cassette and reload with disks but when I press the CDC button nothing happens. Also can't seem to work out how to pair phone. When i press the phone button I get "no phone". Are the two problems connected with a fibre cable issue ? Cheers in advance.

Welcome to the Club, Simon.

I had problems trying to pair my phone with a 2005 X type and came to the conclusion that there was no phone connection.

Has you car got the touch screen? If so, use the Audio button which makes it easy.

If not, I will search my memory of the x type for a solution.

Meanwhile, enjoy your car  --  The Jaguar experience is a bit unique.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Simon,

I have had a look at the X Type handbook, but the one I found by googling said very little about the CD Changer.

When I was changing some discs of my S type on one occasion they would not work.  I must have had a senior moment as I had put them in the wrong way!

Otherwise, I must think it would be connections/fuse.

Regards,

Peter.

Charlie,

I realise that, I was just teasing, the only time I like 'er indoor's dog is when the thing is in the kennels, and the only time it goes in the car is to the kennels or to the vets .

This is the trouble you get with women, and some peeps even renew their wedding vows ! ( only teasing again) .

Get shot of the Vauxhall, just keep the XK.

ATB,

Trevor

Charlie,

I was only joking, not bothered about it in the slightest, as long as you keep Andy Murray up there . it is probably about the most boring thing this year , and you watched it? surely entertainment can't be that scarce up their, you have the Edinburgh fringe ? !

It's times like this I'm glad I haven't got a telly

Prefer the XKR to the F Type .

ATB,

Trevor

The last king of Scotland was Field Marshall the Reverend Doctor Idi Amin, VC and two Bars, Dada, and the next will be King Alex Salmon.

He thinks that the Scottish need to be governed by the Scottish.  The corollary is that Nursery should be run by babies, prisons should be run by criminals, and lunatic asylums should be run by lunatics.

That is purely an aside.

I am very interested in the solution that hopefully Simon will find to sort out his CD player at the weekend.

My weekend will feature driving my S type up North to Leigh [pronounced Leyth] when the Leythers are being hosts to Widnes playing Castleford in the Rugby League Challenge Cup semi final.

Peter,

The CD player solution sounds more interesting than what the Scots are up to .

The rugby sounds good, used to play it a lot in my younger days, albeit rugby union which they play down south.

I do like both codes though, and have had some cracking days out at Wembley in years gone by for various rugby league finals .

I hope you have a fab day out, which I'm sure you will.

ATB,

Trevor

P.S. I cannot make heads nor tail of that American Football though can you ? perhaps Alex Salmond can, he seems to know everything
