Peter,

When I went to the Jag stealership in Taunton with the idea of trading my XJ Supersport for and XKR or an F Type the salesman said " God it's white !, you didn't mention that on the phone" .

Evidently white cars are involved in the least accidents .

I have heard that, too, Trevor.

Apparently dark green used to be the worst colour for accidents.

Our company cars were all the same colour, and in 1971 we all had Dark Green Metallic.  Then someone said that bright yellow was the colour with the least number of accidents, so we all had to have yellow in 1972.

There was no difference in the number of shunts.

Eventually the powers that be allowed us to choose our preferred colour.

Peter.

Peter,

Always yearned for a black car until I got one, it always looked dirty.

My (Polaris) White XJ Supersport seemed to show the dirt less strangely enough .

My XKR is Kyanite Blue (semi metallic ) a very nice colour but a made up one I reckon !

ATB,

Trevor

Hi Danny,

In answer to your question, I've only ever seen one and that had been customized,

It looked rather nice actually.

Mike

PS. ignore Statler and Waldorf, they're apt to wander off topic given half a chance!

Gentlemen,

I must say you two obviously had deprived childhoods, now Peter, being from t' north has some justification as I believe televisual communication of moving images has only just made it past the Watford gap.

You Trevor have no such excuse being from what is, ostensibly at least, a civilised part of the country.

I do take exception to the term "Northerner" being from South of the Thames. I will grant that anyone whose feet aren't wet is in fact North of you but I still think you're pushing it!

Mike,

I have no excuse? excuse me I live in Devon,we've only just got electricity, and by the widest stretch of the imagination we can't be classed as civilsed. Seaweed is our main diet (they really do eat it down here) !

Think you mean North of the Thames .

I'm more northern than most of you anyway .

And just so you don't get confused .

Trevor,

Born and lived most of my life in South London followed by Italy and Hampshire, only ventured into the wilds of Northamptonshire about ten years ago.

Still waiting to see my first dragon though (no wife or mother in law jokes please).

Mike ,

Was in Sutton last Friday to see some music and my daughter in Croydon , also lived in Alton in Hampshire . Why did you move up north ?

Been in Devon for 29 years , and I am the only car owner.
