Same fault as I had. Broken wire on plug which goes into DCCV valve. If my memory is correct there are 3 wires going into the valve and it was the wire nearest the drivers side front wheel. The insulation will look fine but the wire is broken inside. The valves default is open so hot air if no current applied to it. adjusting a/c to cold temp applied current which closes the valve to the appropriate level. Broken wire = open valve = hot air. One valve (passenger side ) is working correctly one valve (Drivers side) is open due to broken wire and no current.

(It could on the other hand be a sticking valve but most likely the wire.)

I stripped & cleaned my DCCV recently, due to similar probs, after re assembly tried the solenoids with test leads and a 12volt battery, center pin common, outer pins fire teh relevent solenoid. The worst part was the solenoid was either miss assembled when new or stripped sometime after, one of the sealing diaphragms was distorted, still seems ok now though. All in all about an hours work.

It might be worth testing the valve with a battery before buying a replacement.

That's what I did and it confirmed valve was ok which led me to checking the wires

Yes, I had to get under the car, take off the front plastic under cover, the one which seals off the underside of the front bumper. Couple of hours work on my own. I thought it was the valve so even removed it from the car, (used old wine corks in the pipe ends to prevent the coolant from draining). However discovered afterwards, with a battery test, that it was the plug, so had to reassemble. I gave each wire a gentle pull and the insulation just fell apart revealing the broken wire, resoldered it into the plug and sorted. The wire nearest the drivers side is the power for the drivers side, middle one is earth and left one is passenger side. If one side is working as per setting in the car and the other side is hot air all the time then it is only going to be the wire for that side which is needing soldered.

After soldering, I put a dab of hot glue (glue stick) over the whole connection to prevent the wires moving with vibration.

Hope this helps

P.S. jacked the car up and put it on chassis stands to make access easier.
