Not a Sport 200, wrong front bumper to start with and wrong exterior colour ?

I see a lot listed as '200 Sport' rather than Sport 200. I have no idea where the 200 Sport description comes from ?

Hi Amardeep

looking forward to seeing her  mine didn't have the mesh grille when I bought her, I did that mod myself, it originally had the vertical slat type grille I believe they are called "Waterfall " very scary cutting the slats out! but the end result is very satisfying.

i posted a topic about the work with pictures. I know yours already has the mesh type fitted, but I'll find it if you're interested?

Regards

Steve

Oldmanam: That really looks quite fantastic. With tinted rear lights, clear side repeaters and blacked out bumper reflectors it would have a really nice monochrome look to it. The only thing I would have changed about my cars spec would have been black paint, and a cream interior if I get two wishes.

So this is a little off topic but; I thought that that style front bumper only came on the full facelift, i.e the 2005 on model with the new front and rear ends. I assumed therefore that it wouldn't fit the earlier ones. What I'm trying to say is would any S-type bumper fit my x200 (pre 2005.5)?

My front bumper's scratched and gouged quite badly an I'm half-heartedly keeping an eye out for one to respray. I always thought that the early back/late front end would be the best combo so if one will fit mine I would do it.

Then all I'd need is a Sport 200 badge, just joking Steve.

Hi Laz

I know a bloke who probably had a bag of them at one time!

I don't know if this will help answer your question, ref facelift?

Steve

Hi

I'm sure all pre 2005  bumpers are interchangeable

post 2005 bumper are different, as the grill is slightly different shape, but can also be fitted to pre 2005 cars, as long as its fitted with bumper, grill and bonnet

post 2005 bonnets are aluminium and offer a goos weight saving

the bumper fitted to your  200 sport is a pre 2005 s-type R bumper and were not fitted to 200 sport as standard

cheers

Joe

How would I fine out if mine is a real sport 200.

Barry you could consult Jaguar Heritage who would confirm your full specification, by the Vin No: you give them. Another few ways of knowing the Sport Model (which I have ) is you will have two tone leather interior, you will have a different coloured grill insert, the will be no wood veneer inside the car.

Best Wishes and Regards, John
