Hi there from the Island of Guernsey.  I have a lovely 2005 S-type (2.5l V6) which has just come up to 38000 miles (Guernsey is not very big).  In the last few weeks the fuel gauge has developed a mind of its own.  Until recently it worked OK when leaving home.  Then slowly the needle would drop slightly before suddenly dropping to empty.  Five minutes later the gauge would then start working and occasionally read higher than previously. Later the same thing would  happen again.  Leaving work, t
