YELLOW ENGINE FAULT WARNING.

"ABS FAULT" "DSC NOT AVAIKABLE" and CVRUISE NOT AVAILABLE.

The above warning has appear three times in one journey of 120 miles.

Each time it appears I have read for codes and there are no codes registered.

Have parked for a while with key out of ignition. Started again and yellow warning still there. Have then driven away and within 100 yds the yellow warning have disappeared.

This has happened three times and has cured itself as described on all three occasions.

Can anyone / someone help or suggest how this can be cured.

My battery spend regular time on my QTEK charger.

Many thanks in anticipation of some good advice. Best Wishes and Regards, John

hi

its going be a abs sensor, you need to plug in as soon as the fault pops up without turning the ignition off

if theres still no faults you also need check other modules, like dsc, gearbox as these can also cause the same fault

cheers

Had the same probs plus parkbrake staying on.

Check quality of battery connections at terminals and to bodywork including crimped cable to terminal lugs. How old is the battery? You can regularly charge an old battery and it seems Ok until the starter motor loads it. The Battery and its connection integrity are paramount on these cars.

Mike battery is 12 months old. Terminals are all OK as everything was checked in boot when CTEK MS 07 was installed with plug in separate in boot area six months ago and battery spends regular time on CTEK.

Mine had a new battery and I still had the occasional start-up prob, Soldering the cables to the lugs, Making the body connection as new solved it. Haven't seen it again in 2 years. As an aside, Previous Xenon headlight levelling problem solved by cleaning sensor contacts too. I have found most bugs are caused by poor electrical contacts.

Did as you suggested and plugged into the OBD2, before stopping the engine, to see if there were any codes registering. Absolutely still no Codes/Errors found. It as usual, after leaving the car stand for a while and restarting, still had the Yellow Warning lights and messages on the dashboard, AND again disappeared once I drove approximately 100 - 150 yards.

Very confused, any other ideas?

Best Wishes and Regards,  John

hi

what code reader are you using

generic ones will only read engine faults

Icarsoft LR V2 or V3 should read all the modules, if lights on then theres a code

using Jaguar IDS/SDD would read it with out a dought

cheers

You may remember that I purchased a IDS/SDD and computer for it to run on. I have never got to grips with how to use the darned thing. Mind you, I am from the "Age of the Dinosaur." I am current using a Foseal Reader which has always worked well because I only had to reference the previous Catalytic Converter problems I had .

I am now about to buy an iCarsoft PRO, which seems to have good reviews and you also recommended it to me once before. That hopefully will identify/diagnose the ABS warning and point me in the right direction. Thanks once again for your usual precise and helpful advice.

Best Wishes and Regards, John

Hi John,

Yes the Icarsoft's are very good and quite user friendly

they talk to most modules, so you should be able to find the code and hopefully lead you to the fault

cheers

Joe

Cheers Joe.
