Hi all, im due to pick up my new to me Jaguar XF Sportbrake from a garage near Manchester, I'm buying it unseen via autotrader. Is there anything I need to look out for? Its the 2.0L diesel on a 68 plate with 2 previous owners and 58k on the clock.

Nice looking machine, good luck on delivery. These are great cars and pretty robust with "normal" modern Jaguar foibles such as:

Battery, main and auxiliary, are essential to be in good order for smooth operation - suggest 5 years old and change for proper replacement.

Tyres, check for decent tyres all round as some modern tyres are prone to cracking when exposed to UV / sunlight.

Engine, ensure servicing has been done according to the book, with regular oil changes AND, being a diesel, check the DPF and associated facilities.

Thanks, it's a beauty alright. I'm going down to pick it up and drive back up to Scotland, should be a long enough drive to get to know it.

Excellent, if you are based in Scotland, you may want to come along to our Scottish Jaguar Enthusiasts' Day at the Riverside Museum in Glasgow on Saturday the 6th of June 2026. It will be another grand day out - the third running of the event. And we will be raising money for the Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

If you want additional information, see the thread in the Events Section, or send me a message (PM) and I will send you the details for registration.

Have a good drive.
