OK a couple of the last few touches - we should be appearing at Whats on at Madeira Drive Brighton
and on the general events page at whatson.brighton.co.uk in the next
few hours which may well help with getting more public awareness of our
event. Additionally also at welovebrighton.com

I am still chasing The Brighton Argus to no avail, but am hopeful I can get them to attend for some more coverage..

No problem Steve,

I will happily add you to the list of attendees..

Are you planning on the convoy and meet, or just the meet itself?

Additionally - which car will you likely be bringing, or maybe both?  I could also do with knowing the year(s) of the car(s) and if you will be bringing anyone with you...

Many thanks

All the best

Steve

Tomorrow (Friday) is my birthday (I'm losing track as the years go by :-)) sooo I will likely be off the forums Friday, Saturday, and Sunday having some family time before the last few days of preparation for the meet.. so where you can post to the forums over the weekend, if anything needs my input it will not be actioned until Monday I'm afraid. I will be monitoring my email stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk though so if it is something urgent or pressing please feel free to drop me an email
over the period..
I will be back on top of things on Monday though I promise :-)

Hi Steve,

I will get you added in... the initial meet should be 8am on the 25th at Pease Pottage Services - please keep an eye out next week for the final itinery appearing on the threads, and I'll ensure I've got an info pack waiting for you on the day :-)

Just in case - on the day look for a dk blue 2.5 X-Type Saloon RN02CVS, and once spotted you will have found me :-)

IT'S HAPPENING THIS WEEK!

For anyone considering coming along, but unsure whether to or not please
come along and join the rest of us.. you know the itinery from further
back in the thread.. it is a fantastic chance to put faces (and cars)
to names from the forums, to meet everyone in a great location with the
sea in front of you, the promenades as the backdrop.. Harwoods Jaguar
will be in attendance, we have a great deal on food so you won't go
hungry, there will be group photos etc for the forums, I am trying to
get us into the local paper with photos, and last but by far the best
thing is you will get to see a wide range of Jaguars, different models,
engine capacities, and ages all in the one place.. other people there
to advise you on any issues you may have with your Jaguar, you may well
have tips for other owners.. it is going to be a great day out - a
Jaguar sort of TopGear day! And that isn't all - we are also running a
convoy down the A23 - a huge block of Jaguars travelling in convoy from
Crawley to Brighton.. far enough for a convoy but not so far as to
strain any classic Jaguars that may come along.. so if you are undecided
please read through the thread, and maybe put your name forward for a
great day out!

I've been having a chat with The Brighton & Hove Council Events team
regarding next year - yes I told you I was ahead of myself grin, and I
have a couple of options for next year I am mulling over, along with
pricings.. we can only book Madiera Drive if we have 100+ cars, and not
on a bank holiday weekend *or* we can prebook a block of parking bays,
which can be done for any day of the year. I will talk to Jaguar about
this and see if they are prepared to assist us as the amounts are such
that we would need sponsorship to cover them.. I'll update you if I get
any feedback - meanwhile if you haven't put your name down for this
years meet - why not? If you are free, and at a loose end maybe on the
25th, why not put your name forward and come along and join us.. we have
Jaguars (like mine) which are typical workhorses right through to
showroom Jaguars, through to Jaguar Supercars all coming along on the
day.. so why not put your name forward? You can put your name forward at
pistonheads.com , jaguarforums.com , jaguarforum.co.uk , or
jaguarownersclub.com and I'll add you in.. If you are not a member of
any of the four forums why not join up, or just email me directly at
stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk and I will add you in that way..

Ok I have checked the weather forecast and we should be looking at up to
23 degrees, a light 10mph breeze, and a chance of light showers - so we
are hopefully guaranteed as good weather as we could expect on the day
:-)

Just to summarise for anyone who has just found this thread and is
wondering whether to come along.. it is on the 25th May, 8:00am start at
Pease Pottage Services, 9:00am start at Madeira Drive, Brighton - in
the region of 30 Jaguars in convoy down to Brighton with a total of 40
or so attending the meet itself.. Jaguars from all walks of life, all
levels of equipment and covering production from 1984 to the current
date. V6, V8 and even V12 engines to hear, a wide range of models to
look over, Harwoods Jaguar will be in attendance with a showroom F-Type,
lots of knowledge and knowhow about Jaguars all in one place on one
day.. a chance to meet the names you may have seen online, a chance to
ask those questions you may have, or to answer other peoples questions, a
social event starting in Brighton with a big breakfast... the weather
is set to be up to 23 degrees with only a chance of light rain.. why not
come along, join in and participate? Just put your name down on any of
the several threads that are running or just email me directly at
stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk - it's a free event, you just pay for
your parking, and your big breakfast.. the parking is £10 for four hours
or £15 for 12 hours, the big breakfast of breakfast or burger or fish
meal plus tea or coffee will be just £5 fixed, and that's it... so why
not put your name forward for what is to be a great day out for you and
your car?

Please note Jaguars of ALL ages, and ALL models are very very welcome -
the wider the range of models, and production years we can manage at the
meet, the better.. so whether you have the latest, most loaded Jaguar
model, or a classic, or an unusual model AND you are free on the 25th -
why not put your name forward and come along? Your only costs will be
parking (£10 for four hours or £15 for 12 hours), and a fixed price meal
of breakfast or burger or fish plus tea or coffee for £5.00.. Harwoods
Jaguar will be in attendance, we are looking at likely 30 or so in the
convoy, and up to 50 or so of us in Madiera Drive making a statement - A
Jaguar statement..
So why not put your name forward and join in..
everyone a Jaguar enthusiast, lots of knowhow, a chance to put faces and
cars to names, enjoy a big breakfast, the sea air with the backdrop of
the promenades, group photo's, and more..

OK - here is the final itinerary for the convoy and
meet... please track me down when you arrive on the day - I'll have an
info pack for you, including a dashboard info sheet to complete and pop
on the dashboard when you park.. I can be contacted on the day by email
at stephen.sheldon@solidlinux.co.uk, or whatsapp or sms at 07914 116375 if you need to get hold of me for any reason.

The days itinerary is listed below for your info, so you know when you need to be where...

08:00 Meet at Pease Pottage Service Station at the base of the M23
08:15 Depart in convoy for Brighton (cruising speed 65mph)
09:00 Park up in one large parking block in Madiera Drive as close to the Pier end as we can.
09:30-10:30 Big Breakfast in Seagulls Cafe – meal + tea/coffee for £5 when quoting the secret squirrel code to be supplied on the day :-)
10:30 General social events etc. start
11:30 Group signings of banner, and group photos for the forums

The parking is pay and display at this location and is £10 for four hours or £15 for 12 hours. Your meal will
be £5.00 per person.. so hopefully no shocks or surprises if you are on a budget

That's pretty much it.. the lists are still open should anyone else want
to come along and join in.. I will update them as we go, and if we do
manage to get the newspaper coverage I'll let you know as well..

Other than that I very much look forward to meeting on the day..

All the best, Steve
