Hi everyone, New to this forum and new to the Jaguar owners club :)

I ordered my new XF R-Sport last week and now have the loooooooooooooong wait until mid June to pick it up. Its going to be a very long 2 months!

The attached picture shows the one I looked at in the showroom but opted to order mine as I wanted a few more toys on it. I have ordered the same colour and added 18" alloys, red stitching and piano black veneer, mirror pack, reverse camera & Chrome side vents.

Cannot wait to get this beauty!

Gary

Welcome to the forum

Looks cracking Gary, I wanted the XF R-S , but the wife wanted the XJ Supersport ( because it had 3 TV's in it)

The XF's are really good cars, I was lent one when my Aston DB9 was in the garage, I made my mind up my next car would be a Jag, and it is .

What toys have you got on it? I had to have a decent sound system, (Bowers and Wilkins 1200 watt 20 speaker jobbie), as I used to be a music researcher, and good sound in the car is more essential than the wife.

It will be June sooner than you think !

ATB,

Trevor

Hi Trevor,

Sounds like you have owned some amazing cars and obviously currently own an amazing car. Owning an Aston is on my bucket list.

I guess happy wife = happy life so I don't blame you for going with her choice :) Our's was also a team effort. When I first saw the XF back in 08 I always said I would love to own one, possibly used but never did I imagine I would order a brand spanker! My partner was made redundant last year but this spurred her on to open her own Independent Travel Agent....6 months down the line and it is one of, if not the fastest growing business in the area which is beyond our wildest dreams. This spurred us on to go and make the move for the XF. Life is for living after all and you don't get a trial run!

With regard to toys, I opted for the spec above but prior to ordering I saw a video on the net showing an XF with illuminated door sills...I just had to have them! I have also opted to stick with the standard sound system. When I tried it I was pretty impressed by it and saw no reason to upgrade it, obviously I don't have the musical experience of yourself and hope I don't regret it. I did go back and forth with the decision. There were some other toys I fancied but in the end saw them as a nice to have rather than a must have so left them off.

I have gone with the 2.2ltr 200bhp engine as this is my first Jaguar and I would 'ideally' like to get a feel for the smaller engine before gradually working my way up to the Supercharged XFR one day(fingers crossed). I may love the 2.2 or I may wish I had gone bigger but one thing I am certain of is that regardless, I will love this car and it will be a real head turner.

BTW, is that your motor in the Avatar? That's mint :)

Got the illuminated doors sills on mine, in blue, they are cool!

Your car should have the Meridan sound system, which is excellent.

Don't get an Aston ! vastly overated, overpriced, not all that fast, the Jag is ten time better, honestly ( and faster)! It was meant to be my dream car, but what a let down

Toying with the idea of getting the F Type Coupe next year, but the wife reckons it's too small . But it is a brillaint car. The "R" version has the same 5lt supercharged engine as mine, and the top of the range one is less than half the price of the Aston Vanquish, and miles better .

ATB,

Trevor

Welcome to the Club, Gary.

My 07 plate S Type seems very antiquated, but I still love it, and it is great to drive.

Every time I go out on my own I am told not to think I am a boy racer.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Peter, I used to own an X-Type and thought it was a great car. The S Types will always hold their class - My father in law said the S Type was one of the best cars he has ever driven! I do hope you are right about June coming around quickly.

Thanks for the advice Trevor about the Aston, I may have to re-consider :) The F Type looks like a class motor and maybe one day I'll go for one of them as my 'toy' haha.
