  4. Morning all. I'm back in a Jag after having a Vauxhall for a few years (silly me). I've previously owned an XJ and an X Type, I'm now in a XF and I love it. It's a 3ltr Petrol version, not the most economical but not that bad. Take into account it's ULEZ free and it works out OK. The only problem I had was the laquear on the front bumper but with a bit of wet and dry and a can of spray paint and tin of liqueur it looks like new again. Happy motoring. Lyn
  5. Good morning. The xf is a good buy. Don't worry too much about the milage on these cars as they will have the same problems as any other cars. Just make sure it has a good service history and you will be fine. Also don't listen to people saying the petrol versions are expensive to run.
  6. Excellent news Pete and thanks for the update.🤙
  7. Well I have now managed to change the alarm sounder, not a job I enjoyed as I am not happy up close to air bags!! But too it steady and once the air bag and its frame was out of the way the alarm sounder was easy to see hidden low down on the bulkhead. the replacement fitted and air bag put back it only took a couple of hours in total. Reconnected the battery, reset parking brake, windows etc. and went for a spin. Some two hours later measured the current drain which was now some 100mA far better. Not quite down to the 30mA mentioned by John but a big improvement. so thanks to all for your input, will enjoy the driving now with more confidence that my electrics are all working well. Pete
  8. Can any one give me an idea of a price I could look for to sell my husbands etype, or how to get a valuation. It was originally a LHD converted to RHD when it returned from the USA to the UK, in 1988, it has an automatic gear box and a Jaguar enthusiast has commented that it is a straight honest car

  10. I've got an S Type 2002 in black for sale as parts if any is interested.
  11. I am preparing to have the timing chains and tensioners replaced and ridding myself of the Check Engine Light blues by taking Ian (that's his name) to my Jaguar specialist. He has some wear and tear on him, but is mechanically sound. His "Topaz" color is regal and he is having his trim repaired/replaced. Slowly, but surely this 24-year-old boy will be up and running light and fast.
  12. hi jim thanks for get back to me. i wil try that tomorrow thanks
  13. Hi Allan, Put the mirror in it’s driving position first. Now adjust the glass inwards. Now put your fingers into the side of the glass and simply pull. It will just pop of it’s mounting. Make sure your other hand is there to steady the glass in case it falls.
  14. Newspaper (the biscuit in my old Volvo 760 was literally made of shoddy - compressed cardboard - you can imagine how that fared after 30 years getting repeatedly heated/cooled/damp/heated etc!)
  15. hi all im looking for help how to remov driver door mirror glas on xk 150 06 reg allan
  16. Yippee, the Discovery item cured the dribbles. Ìt's not listed as being suitable for the X350 but it looks exactly the same and fits perfectly. Almost unheard of for anything on a Jag to be fixed so cheaply and easily. Happy days.
  17. Headliner ( when the X350 headlining sags the big polystyrene lump that it's glued onto, known as 'The Biscuit', has to come out to make a job of it). (How do I know???)
  18. Hello I know this is a topic that has its owners for and against. I needed something modern with programs instantly available. The original unit just didn't fit the bill. Once I had picked my new unit I had to find someone to fit it. I found an amazing young chap who made sure everything was to my needs. He was also very reasonable with the fitting price. If any members are interested in this type of audio system then let me know. If anyone wants to see some photos I would be happy to post some.

  20. Hi Guys and Gals, As above, SERIOUSLY intending to buy a Jag in next few months as changing job and am being given some money by new employers to replace current company car ! lol Have always loved Jags and was very surprised to see that there seemed to be a wide choice available in my price range (max £4k in reality) .............. Current fave model to go for is an XF - but can be persuaded to change if its good enough ! Anyway, looking for advice on the following :- 1) What to look out for on the older models 2) How the general driver experience will be in the future and lastly, 3) What horrors may await me in the future ! Thx for any advice given ! Paul R
