  2. Hi Shaun, if you send me an email to: scotland.ambassador@jecregions.org.uk then I will email it on to you. N6 JMX
  3. Unfortunately you do not have a ”service connection” to enable remote movement of the seat and there is no way to manually move them. You will therefore have to remove it and then apply 12v to the motor in order to move it. Assuming of course the motor has not been damaged by the water.
  4. A week ago my SType was affected by flooding, from a nearby river. The car has had about 6 inches of water in the footwells, and the driving seat will not return to its normal position rendering the car undrivable. Is there some way of moving it back manually? Or do I need to remove it?
  5. Morning N6JMX Thanks for the info, a service guide for the X150 XKR would come in really handy if you don’t mind? Ex RAF Engineer don’t like paying for jobs I can do myself!! Regards Shaun
  6. Hi Shaun, if you are a competent home mechanic, then believe it or not, completing a service on the X-150 XKR is not as daunting as it may first appear. You can purchase an oil vacuum for realistic money and with the cost of labour at garages, that outlay can be recovered in just a couple of services - years. I do have access to a handy home service guide for both the X-150 and X-100 for anyone wishing to read up on the matter. N6 JMX

  8. Could be the solenoid Steve. Are you hearing a click? Took the starter off mine and annoyingly it worked perfectly on the bench. Been fine ever since.
  9. Thanks Jim, but I have tried that but without success. Thanks anyway Steve
  10. Hi Steve - All the best + Welcome to the club
  11. Thank you N6 JMX, that was really helpful, sadly because it has to be vacuumed out I guess I will have to take it to a garage!! Regards Shaun
  12. Further to the post above, the type of Ducks Bill used in the New XK changed during 2009, with the c/o being at VIN B34500, so cars in 2009 could still have the older, easily blocked version. In the photo below, the older / original version is at the top and the new / improved version is at the bottom. N6 JMX
  13. Try placing the gear lever in neutral as it is also possible to start between neutral and park. The interlock may be suspect in park mode. N6 JMX
  14. Hi Martin, effectively yes. The system will effectively remain at the last available update point. Any changes on the roads driven will not he held in the system. N6 JMX
  15. Hi Shaun, the variance likely comes about because there is no drain plug on the 5.0 S/C engine and the oil should be removed by "vacuuming" out via the tube designed specifically for the task. You are then required to replace the exact amount removed and thereby avoid over filling. That said, the following should be adhered to, including the oil removed with the filter replacement: Quantity: 7.25 Litres Type: 0W-20 or 5W-20 Specification: Fully Synthetic to Jaguar recommended spec. WSS-M2C925A/STJLR.51.5122 Hope this helps. N6 JMX
  16. Hi, I am new on here. I have just recieved an e mail from jaguar uk saying my in control subscription is about to run out at 34 months from new. I think that is a mistake as it should be 36 months, it is £120 for one year, any advice as to alternative options, I like the safety camera alerts when i am using roads I do not know, will that stop if i do not renew, I have not bothered with the Tracker option after the first year, any advice would be much appriciated, sorry for the spelllling.
  17. Are you getting power to the starter? Had a similar problem with my Xj with the same engine and it was a dirty terminal at the starter. Also if you have a 'Willing Assistant ' see if the solenoid is clicking when you try to start it.
  18. Afternoon was looking for some help!! I have a 2010 Jaguar XKR 5.0 S/C what is the correct Spec of oil and the Quantity required as there seems to be some contradiction. Regards Shaun
  19. Jag S type 2000 3 lt. All electrics work but engine starter will not crank. Had been standing for two months but I have charged batter fully. Starter was working fine before. Earth and connections to battery seem fine (less that 0.1 ohms) I have repeatedly moved the gear lever into park to make sure cut off switch is engaged... Any advice / ideas.
