  1. Jim, Peter and I discussed this before we jointly made a decision to remove part of your post. The point I am making is simply that the comments you made were (probably) so susceptible to more than one possible interpretation as to be seen in the same light by three of us at least. As you know, that is one of the big problems with a text based community. You just do not have the nuances of voice or body language to enhance the overall impression Perhaps you might consider discussing it with Peter or Frank or myself via PM so that this thread can get back on track please?

  5. Hi CBers, once the unit is tuned to your stereo (fm) and paired with your phone (Bluetooth) when you get in an out of the car, the unit automatically connects with your phone via the Bluetooth, I should have said "tuning with your Jag stereo" , apologies for the confusion. ;) Cheers Andrew

  6. OK. Good news to impart Denis found an overhead console for not a lot on fleabay here in the UK (no ridiculous import fees) It's from an XJ, is the wrong colour and doesn't have Homelink. BUT, it does have the parking sensor disable / sun blind switch so, with a little judicious modification of the plastic sub-assembly and some re-work ofthe PCB, I'm going to end up with precisely the specification i want by dropping the modified components into my car's casing which is, of course, the correct colour It has taken a while but I got there in the end

  7. My first S Type 4.2 V8 (Previous Jaguars over the years: 1987 XJ6, 2002 X Type 3.0 V6 Auto, 2005 X Type 3.0 V6 manual estate) Not keen on the style of wheels, multispoke Mercury's might be an alternative Had Powerflow stainless end cans fitted and a lovely V8 low burble is produced

  8. Hey Tim, I had a 71 GT6 MKII back in the late 80's, I remember it being a fantastic looking thing, but handling and comfort left a bit to be desired. Poor mans E-Type apparently ;) Cheers, Russ

  9. Hello, again. Sorry for not replying to you Peter, various events put getting another car on the back burner for a while. However this week I bought a 2002 X200 Sport with a manual 'box, three weeks MOT and an DSC/ABS fault, happy days.. I have been fixing various lesser issues the last few days and hope to get to the bottom of the DSC/ABS fault this weekend. My fears have eased a little, it is only nuts and bolt plus some electronics after all.

  10. Hi Andrew and welcome, Ive had a couple of X types plus German company cars, my present X is the 2.5 V6 AWD SE, in all honesty, the X type is probably the best car I've had, very reliable, comfortable and goes well when you give it a tickle, I felt at home the first time I got in one. as the guys have said, have a look at all types of Jag and see what fits you best. Cheers Andrew
