  2. Absolutely James, I agree with Jim. Go for it and help bring the so called and rumoured 'average driver age' down ... and help make it a young man's car too! As Jim's sons are doing. Find yourself a beauty, which, given your budget, should be eminently do-able. As Jim suggests, take your time, and maybe test drive a few options; but always keep one eye on the all important history which, in fairness, you would be doing with any car you buy. Good luck, Rowley.

  4. Hi Mally, The s type you have is the same year as mine and also the 2.7 Diesel - which is a great engine. It needs a good run once a month to regenerate the DPF, and a nice little run up the M6 or through Rainford, and Ormskirk to Aisdale will do. I lived in Widnes for 32 years before emigrating to Wales, Derbyshire, and now here in the west Midlands. The S type does not need modifications - but some items not fitted by Jaguar can be retrofitted, and Paul is the expert in that field. I know Liverpool quite well as my wife is a Liverpudlian and we visit regularly. Regards, Peter.

  6. Hi Steve. Thanks for the welcome. I will take some pics when I can and put in the intro section. Sorry to take a while to get back to you. i am new to forums in general, didn't realise it was that quick! here is a photo of the area I sealed.Just a 2-3 mm bead of silicone and put the seal back just before it dries. Saw something on YouTube like this but can't find the link now. Still dry after more rain :) Cheers David
