  1. Had a brilliant drive today, still grinning like a Cheshire cat! Russ68 will know where I have been, but had a drive around the Island. Ryde to Newport over the Downs, up the Middle Road to Yarmouth, across to Alum bay then down to Freshwater bay and the Military road to Blackgang, then through Godshill, Merstone and back over the Downs to Sandown, then Bembridge, St. Helens and back to Ryde..The S type performed as faultlessly as ever and was in "sport" mode for the drive. Still grinning, still loving the car, still can't think of anything I would rather be driving!

  2. Hi all, As an S-Type owner, I normally post of this forum, but thought it best to post pics and details of a birthday treat I allowed myself on the Classics forum, which I link to here. Have a read if you can, she was a very pretty car and an absolute privilege to pilot for the day . All the best, Russ

  3. Ah well, all is well with the world and our Myfannwy (our '07 9500 mile XK). A shiney new MOT with no advisories. Our favourite MOT tester (an ex Jaguar technician who knows Jaguars inside out and back to front) announced "perfect". Emissions at 0.003% CO (so we shan't have any trouble with the London Zones), EPB registering very high, and all tickityboo. Even commented that the waxoyl job on our suspension subframes was spot on, and not the often seen sprayed everywhere job. The loose tailgate parcel shelf is now firmly back in place after replacing one of the fittings which had collapsed in on itself and we are now hoping for clear weather for the Jaguar Parts day at Stoneleigh on Sunday. Even managed to get to the MOT station and back without getting wet. Happy days and good luck to anybody else who is off to the annual worry-bead venue soon.

  4. Thank you Trevor; we might take in the Nurburgring and/or Spa as a visit but definitely won't be trying out our XK on the track. MOH did plenty of circuit racing in the day (Rover SD1) and we have no wish to subject our XK to the various flying (literally) BMWs etc!! The Schlumpf Museum looks excellent so our trip might find itself getting extended! As always, happy growling
