  1. Im having a similar issue with my passenger door window. You close it but when it hits the top it immediately comes back down about half way. Really odd!
  2. I find the same around here in Birmingham. Not many people use islands correctly, people don't indicate, people tailgate no matter what speed you seem to be doing, people speeding in and out of traffic only to get stuck at the lights anyway etc.. and never a copper in sight when any of it is happening!
  3. I used the Autoglym aqua wax on mine the other week which was really quick and easy to apply. It smells great too. You do have to re do it every 3-4 weeks though so I might try something a bit more hard core next time. I also gave their resin polish a try which seemed quite good.
  4. Nice job. There is a bit of stubborn brake dust on mine but going to pick up some new products next week so hopefully Ill get them looking this good!
  5. Recently insured my 2008 2.7 XF - Tesco came up the cheapest but that was still £680 with 7 years no claims. If you do go with them you get money off with the points card too.
  6. Hello all. Newbie XF owner here. Heres my 2.7D premium luxury. I had a few ideas in mind for my replacement car, but after looking at and test driving this, I just had to have it. I never thought I would be that bothered about things like cruise control, but I have found myself using it often especially when driving through those variable speed limit points! It has definitely bought back the fun in driving for me.
  7. I completely agree on the fuel. Since I got the car 3 weeks ago I have only used BP ultimate, Shell Fuel Save and Shell V power. I am just praying everything will be fine now. Because its a 2008 car but there were only 42,000 miles on it, it could be the fact that the previous owner didn't give it the runs it needed. I got in touch with the local Jaguar dealer this morning and they said it could be the fact that I was driving too fast when the light had come on. He said that 60MPH is the optimum speed for regenerating and if I was driving too fast it wouldn't of kicked in. Also, the light was on amber, but still required a forced regen.
  8. Yes it is the 2.7d. The garage performed a forced regen and all is clear now. Still not sure if this is going to solve the issue long term but will have to see.
  9. I am having this problem at the moment. Only had the car 3 weeks and the light came on the day after I had it. A 25 minute blast on the motorway cleared it the first time. Last weekend I drove from Birmingham to Nottingham for the night. The next morning when I started it up the dreaded DPF full light was on. I was expecting it to clear on the way home, but it didn't happen. That evening I drove to Tamworth and back and still the light had not gone off, despite driving in lower gears. On the way back I added some Wynns DPF cleaner which a friend recommended but it still didn't sort it out. Taken it back to the garage today and luckily they have agreed to get it sorted without any issues so far. It seems a common fault on ones around this age. I was wondering whether anyone knows whether the DPFs on the more recent cars are any better, and whether it would be possible just to change it? Im considering spending the money just to save having to keep worrying about it.
