  1. For sale is my 2003 Jaguar S-Type Sport. Regrettable sale as I've only had the car since May this year however a change in job means I now walk to work, so we now have no need for a second car. I am only the second owner, I bought it from a lady in Pickering who had it since new, and who specified the colour and some other additions. Currently showing around 107000 miles, less than average for its age. This is the 2.5 V6 200bhp engine with 6 speed auto gearbox, drives very smoothly. Usual Jaguar refinements. Finished in beautiful Jaguar Racing Green, in sunlight it shows the pearl in the paint. Bodywork in very good condition for its age, however does have the odd scratch and a small rust spot just in front of the offside rear arch if being honest. The car cleans up very well. Interior is cream leather with wood effect inserts, seats are electric. Only wear is on the passenger seat bolster. The car was originally specified with an optional factory fit boot lid spoiler, mesh grill, the standard 17" Heracles alloys, and stiffened suspension. I have added a pair of Genuine Jaguar chrome oval exhaust tips, I've replaced the front brake pads and also renewed the front set of wheel bolts. The MOT is due in January. I unfortunately have very little of the cars service history, however was informed it was serviced by Jaguar for most of its life up to a point. There are a couple of small issues which I had planned to sort if I was keeping it: Windscreen has a chip, shown as advisory on MOT. Fuel filler door mechanism is faulty (common issues on these S-Types), it can still be opened/closed however, and the mechanism can be replaced. Slight knock from front suspension, possibly a ball joint? The wheel well in the boot is dry (damp ones are a common issue on these), plus the sills seem to be ok. I have an additional alloy with the car, on top of the space saver spare which doesn't appear to have ever been used. Overall the car is great to drive, in very good condition for its age. I'm looking for £1,795, however open to sensible offers. Viewing welcome, located in Cottingham, Hull. Thanks Chris
  2. Cheers Russ, think I'll get some of those ordered! They're currently at £12.50, it does say "x2" in the description also, bargain? Mine are slightly grubby too and not sure they'd clean up particularly great even with some metal polish. As far as back boxes go I may have to save a little looking at the cost of some. Spoke to a local Powerflow dealer who quoted £180 a side. I've seen the Fast Lane ads on ebay, they seem to do ones to fit jags, but look like more of a universal fit. However are like £60 each. Not sure of the quality or fitment but look ok? Thanks!
  3. Thanks Peter, It generally is in good condition, however does need a few things sorting. Already fixed a couple of things, one being missing front brake pad springs, resulting in rattling pads. However wheel nuts were seized on before I could even get to them, so required drilling and studs replacing. Other issues will be queried on here in the coming months :). For the price I paid though, I'm happy. Thanks, yeah British Racing Green or even Jaguar Racing Green I've read it being called? I think its pearlescent, changes colour in sunlight. Thanks Steve, I'd heard about the Sport 200's before I bought the car and was surprised to see it on the V5. However I'm not so sure. Are there any other distinguishing features the car should have? Mine for example doesn't have steering wheel audio controls or cruise etc, or sat nav, or 18" wheels. The ride is fairly firm suggesting it may have stiffer suspension. I've not heard any other 2.5v6's but the exhaust has a deepish noise inside the car when pushed (however I do fancy changing the back boxes for something a bit throatier). I'm kind of thinking it's not a Sport 200 :(.
  4. Thanks Kevan. Here's a couple of images of the car if anyone's interested....
  5. Thanks for the reply Andy. Both your cars look good with the exhausts on. There's a Powerflow dealer near me, I may pop in to see what they can do/how much it might cost me. Cheers
  6. After recently purchasing my S-Type, I'm of the opinion the rear exhaust tips are a little small for the car. So without making it look too boy racer like I've been looking out for some larger replacement tips. I have seen Adamesh do a set that look quite smart. However after thinking about it, I'm wondering whether to look at replacing the rear back boxes, to get a little more noise out of it. I know it wont have a V8 rumble, and as much as its currently very quiet, I'd just like it to have a bit more presence. Does anyone have any advice on exhaust manufacturers who produce items to fit? That aren't astronomically priced. I'm considering having a chat with a local exhaust builder also to see what can be done. Any comments are appreciated.
  7. I'm a recent first time owner at the age of 30. As mentioned, I've also had the jokes of and old mans car, however once people see how it looks and drives they are very impressed, Plus for value for money they're great. I picked up an 03 S-Type 2.5 Sport (says Sport 200 when looking up reg, does this mean anything? other than the power output?). Few pictures below after a good clean....
  8. A quick hello to everyone. Recently bought my first Jaguar at the seemingly young age of 30. However I love it, and will no doubt be asking several questions on here over the next few months. I have a 2003 S-Type Sport 2.5 V6 in Jaguar Racing Green.
