  1. Yeah, I found the wear on the sessentas was rough, couldn't fault the grip but also the fuel economy took a dive as soon as they went on! These have a far better rating and are a brand new design so hopefully they'll be decent. I'm just relieved to finally get rid of the horrid snow tyres it's got on ATM... I've heard good things about the Goodyears, just Vredestein have a little place in my heart and with the ratings of this tyre being BA, I had to give them a whirl 😛
  2. I believe the side indicator (the one behind the front wheel) which everyone is saying there's a bulb behind isn't painted, he's just replaced the orange lens with a clear one. I have done the exact same. I was surprised there weren't any clear reflector replacements anywhere! The orange really looks horrific.
  3. Just to update, bought 4 of the Vredesteins. 245/40/18 from Camskill.com cost me £380 with postage, fitting will cost £48 from a local garage. I'm having them fitted and the tracking checked this week so I will let you know how they are once fitted. They're such pretty tyres...
  4. I replaced all the bulbs with uprated Osram ones and they're great, especially the high beams. I didn't quite sit a bulb right when I did replace them and I had a dodgy headlight for a couple of months before I figured out what it was like - don't do that 👀
  5. Hey, so thankfully my Petlas SnowMaster tyres are wearing thin and I'm looking to buy some new tyres! The Petlas were put on by the previous owner, and they're pretty terrible in all weathers (I haven't had them in the snow yet, but I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them). They're 245/45/18s and rated E for fuel economy and C for wet grip. I've been looking at those you've been suggesting, so Nexens, Goodyears, etc. But have found the Vredestein Ultrac Satins to be loads cheaper than the Goodyears and one of the best rated tyres available with B for fuel and A for grip. I'll be getting 245/40/18s and I'm looking at £90 a corner. They released them in March this year, so I'm wondering if anyone's had them yet? Also has anyone gone from E-C rated tyres to B-A rated tyres? If so, did you find a huge difference? Funnily enough, on my old Polo I had Vredestein sessentas (rated something like F-B) replace the front Dunlops (something like D-C) and I found the average mpg drop a good 10%! Cheers, Phil
  6. I put compilations of the stuff I see on there on YouTube: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCwrh2JiUJRfOC1BZNhHrTIg
  7. I just have mine plugged into the socket in the arm rest and wrap the wire round the windscreen. Then there's no messing on and I can swap it to other cars if necessary with ease.
  8. I've got an '04 Jag S Type 2.7 Twin Turbo V6 diesel auto which runs as sweet as a nut. ATM it's got 79000 miles, I'm the third owner, it was serviced and MOT'd late July and has 4 winter tyres with decent tread. I believe it's got most of the servicing in the book (from what I remember). I've got a report of every MOT it's been through and it's only ever had advisories on the tread depth of the tyres. The wheels are the optional 18" BBS Melbourne wheels which were refurbished in August and apart from a couple of minor scratches on a couple of them, they are in absolutely phenomenal nick. The interior is ridiculously clean for a 12 year old car and apart from some barely noticeable scratches on the NSF bumper and wing mirror the exterior is also. It's awesome to drive about in, I do a combination of motorway and town driving in it and it does both extremely well. It's got most things a Jag should have; automatic memory leather seats and steering wheel, automatic headlights, cruise control, the ability to make old men swoon, etc. The only reason I'm selling it is because I'm insane and I want to swap it out for a motorbike, so I'm pretty much happy to keep it unless I get the right offer - and as it's winter, I'm not entirely desperate. I would potentially swap for the likes of a CBR600F+ money my way (needed for gear etc). I live in Redcar in the north east, but work in Ruislip, London. £4000 ono
  9. I don't know what colour your wood is but I've got a spare light maple gear knob going. I bought the aluminium gear knob from Jaguar at the expense of £136 👀 So excuse the photos but they're not on my phone (also I have the odd bit of trim in mine, I'd love to have them painted a gloss piano black but they're too much of a hassle to get off, the dash anyway):
  10. Fellow gents, I've got an issue with my headlights where the offside is pointed up about 3/4 feet where it should be at a normal distance and I'm being a nuisance to everyone with my dodgy headlight. From looking at it, it seems to be the whole lens is pointing up and I can't see a way off adjusting it. How do I go about sorting it? Cheers, Phil
  11. Haha I can imagine, I'm gonna have to google this like. I did consider gold haha.
  12. Thanks dude! Haha I wonder what champagne looks like :p
  13. I dunno, I like a good contrasting wheel to be fair!
  14. I went silver just to be safe really and they've come up awesome!
  15. Hello fello gents, I'm in the process of tidying up my new (old) grey S-Type 2.7d SE and in doing so, I'm having the alloys (BBS Melbournes) refurbished professionally. I have a tough choice; Gloss Black or Sparkling Silver? The car is grey and I've just purchased some absolutely beautiful red centre caps (PSA pictures). Which is why I believe Gloss Black is a good choice (+ the new jags look gorgeous in this colour scheme). However, with the classic look of the S-Type, would it look daft? Should I play safe with silver? Does anyone have a grey S-Type with black alloys? Or have an opinion on the matter? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Phil (PS I'm 23 years of age)
