Hi all, How easy is it to change the rear cv joints on a 2001 3.0 V6?? I took the car to a garage to get the reluctor ring changed as its broken and they said they didn't want to do it as they would have to drop the rear suspension and completely remove the rear drive shaft? I didn't think is was that much of a different job to changing a front drive shaft. I am going to buy a cv joint as I would guess its easier to change than faffing around with a reluctor ring? If anyone has done this do they have the method written down, or is there a guide I can follow? Thanks all

Hi Peter, Thanks for the welcome. I bought the jag, and quite unintentionally sold it to my boss for twice what I paid for it?!! I enjoyed the drive that much I went and bought another though not quite the same, this time a 2.5 V6 still 2001 Auto but still nice. Though it does have a couple of small issues. Hi All, After some advice. I bought a 2001 2.5 V6 X type the other day and at first I thought no satnav, then when looking in the boot there was the satnav unit and I thought odd. Whilst looking throughout the paperwork that came with the car, i noticed a load of electrical schematics had been downloaded, so it appears that someone was in the middle of upgrading the car to satnav. However in the process the cd player doesn't work and the radio doesn't receive FM signal. So Questions are, How hard is the upgrade? Is it worth it? Any ideas on the CD player and Radio FM issue. The only other issues with the car are the cruise doesn't work, not sure why as apparently it did, and occasionally it puffs out smoke but my mate who was following thought it was more like steam than smoke due to the colour and smell?!! Otherwise it drives lovely. Thanks all for any and all advice.

Hi all, Don from Newport South Wales going to collect my x type tomorrow. 2001 3.0 se. yes yes I know why did I buy an early one, why not? I have to fix the abs ring and the lambda sensor but other than a few marks car looked nice. will tell you more tomorrow!!!
