  1. Hello all, The 4.0 V8 in my 2000 S-Type has just gone at 148 ish thousand miles due to suspected oil starvation, now I absolutely love my S-Type and would really love to bring it back however finding a replacement engine has proven quite difficult, the 4.2 however is nice and easy to find. Are there too many differences between these two engines to simply lift the 4.0 out and pop the 4.2 in? I'm no novice mechanic but this is my first real dabble into V8 territory, I was mainly a jap guy (LOADS of engine bay to not a lot of engine) so will be attempting it myself if you guys say it is relatively straight-forward. Thanks in advance for any input. Also if anyone has a 4.0 V8 that doesn't have the Nikasil bore liners that they want to swap for beer tokens please do let me know, especially if you are in the south east.
