  1. Bit old this topic but having purchased a 3.0s and having lots of non engine related issues was looking at a code reader which covered ABS and other systems and came across this bad boy, anyone any info on if it's any good or not? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Launch-X431-CRP123-Creader-7-Auto-Scanner-DIY-Code-Reader-UK-Stock-ABS-SRS-ENG-/262689560410?hash=item3d2984975a:g:iaoAAOSwMNxXYlYW
  2. Oh I know now 😁 the first was correct but had damage on the rear corner, the second was the wrong one with the one piece gasket, the third after I supplied a photo was a copy of the second, the fourth had been butchered by hacking through the looms, now awaiting with baited breath on number five 😭
  3. Yes, it'll be sorted soon, it's the return to the expansion tank and I've located a few, just waiting for the breakers to supply the correct inlet manifold , on number four now :(
  4. Managed to break a connector that plugs into a t-piece at the front of the engine whilst removing the inlet manifold on my 3.0, think it's part of the cold start system, it goes from a black plastic multi port jobbie to the expansion tank, for the life of me I can't find it anywhere, lots of people mention it in explaining how to remove the manifold and be very careful you don't break it as it's easy to do, well I did and it is,but does anyone know the part number?
  5. Well the breakers sent me the correct replacement part unfortunately it's hopeless, the whole rear corner is burnt and useless so much for inspections However has gave me chance to fettle a bit and noticed one of the connectors for the cold start system has snapped off, the breather pipes for the head that connect to the airbox are perished and there was a vacuum pipe dangling under the car, on hunting around it appears to go to the fuel pump, the car has had allsorts of idling and revving problems so wonder if that is one of the culprits So off to order some more bits and hopefully make some progress
  6. Yes, plentiful parts at a reasonable price works for me Ordered a divider of a early 2002 now and next is the abs/traction control/stability issue which I'm hoping is a sensor on a wheel Then on to the air-conditioning, then the passenger window which makes a noise but nothing happens, then a bit of corrosion on a wheel arch, then who knows....certainly suck you in these cars
  7. Ah......ordered the 2003 ones, ah well live and learn 🙄
  8. Thanks for the info, the flea bay parts are off a 2003 so I'll invest in those Cheers Eric
  9. Hi, thought I'did better drop by as I've a feeling I'll be here often! Bought a 2001 S type 3.0 as I've always loved these cars, she's a project as is a third car 91000 not to shabby looking, major issues are misfire on 2 cylinders, abs, traction control, Stability lights on, air con dead, and smells like dead people What could possibly go wrong 😊
  10. Hi wonder if anyone can help I've just purchased a 2001 3.0 S type as a bit of a project 91000 miles and quite reasonable Plugging the OLD reader in it pulls up a misfire on 4 and 6, pulled the inlet manifold off and changed the coils and plugs but managed to pull the inserts off two of the lower manifold securing studs and one was previously snapped off Found these on flea bay and we're wondering if there is any difference between the 2003 and 2001 engine Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112122522100 Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272310157302 Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131942345447 Thanks in advance
