  1. Having seen a a brand new white XF with rear windows tinted using the 20% option, I have had mine done which is dark azure blue. I hope it will, as well as looking good, reduce in-car temperatures when parked in sunshine. Living in Somerset I was recommended White Horse Tints in Westbury, Wilts BA13 4QT they did the white XF and they did another great job on mine and I would recommend them. A bit of advice, there is no need to go darker than 20% as this works well!!
  2. I would be interested hear from other drivers of the economical XF 2.2 with 8 speed auto introduced in 2011. Whilst I fully appreciate that you should never expect to achieve the over stated fuel economies in the sales blurb, but I am dissapointed to only achieve an average of 43 mpg with a high proportion of motorway driving at 70/75 mph and rare use of the sports function. This average has been routinely monitored using fuel usage against miles travelled and not using the in car computed mpg which is always overstating the mpg by 10% or more. (Monitored over 14,000 miles).
  3. I own a late 2011 XF 2.2 PL and I have had the same problem since I bought it as a demonstrator with 7000 miles on the clock. I have been told by the dealer and by Jaguar main Customer Servises that it is "tyre skip" and that they can do nothing about it! I struggle to accept this on a £38,000 car. It happens in the cold weather pulling off my driveway and if parked all day in a car park same problem. In the warmer months last year the problem dissapeared! In fact the problem has been particularly bad in the last couple of months. Please let me know the response you get from a garage and if you can get it resolved how this was achieved!! Good luck! Many thanks John B-B
  4. Queried with dealer and only the passenger side mirror dips!
  5. I also have had problems with paintwork on a September 2011 registered XF PL 2.0 Diesel. After numerous caklls and emails to the dealer and Jaguar customer services who stated damage to the paintwork was outside the warrantee, they resprayed the front sills and applied PPF (plastic protection film) to the sills behind the front wheels where the worst loss of paint occured. My arguement was straight forward in that the paintwork/design in these areas is not fit for purpose. I now notice that paint is being chipped off the bottom of both front doors and from the sills in front of the rear wheels. Also a number of small chips have appeared on the bonnet. I would add that my car is dark blue and the loss of paint is very obvious as the undercoat/primer is very light in colour. Clearly Jaguar have paint problems and I have queried why the application of PPF to the car sills is not standard as it is with some other prestigious cars! Current mileage is abour 15,000 miles and I fear after a year or so the paint loss will be very serious on the sills and lower edges of the front door panels. At a recent visit to Jaguar works arranged through the club I queried whether they recognise this well known issue, but apparently not - having their heads buried in the sand might be an appropriate expression! I am very dissapointed with Jaguar customer services as it took nearly 5 months to get the the front sills sorted and a threat of going to arbitration seemed to trigger action! This problem must be widespread!! Regards JBB
