  1. Just for anyone's future reference on this topic, I just had the exact same issue with my x type. I tried the ignition barrel flap trick and it worked first time. Just flapped the key in and out a couple times, and when I went to start the engine all the locking mechanisms in the doors clicked and hey presto the boot was able to open again
  2. Thanks for the reply. I have explored the menu and it's very limited. I was wondering if there was some kind of back-door trick to enable it. When the ignition starts, the screen defaults to the jaguar logo, then to the last menu I was on (radio / climate etc). If the screen was off previously, it defaults to the menu screen. Any way the screen stays off until I turn it on manually? Sorry to be a pain!
  3. Hi guys, first post for me here. I've just bought a 56 plate X Type SE, and I was wondering if there is any way of setting the Nav screen so that when you start the car up it either stays blank/off, or displays the Jaguar logo? Currently it just defaults to the last screen I had on eg Radio or Main Menu. Thanks a lot!
