  1. Hi guys here is a easy way of getting the crankshaft pulley bolt off with out using locking tools.Ok right I found a way of getting the crankshaft pulley bolt undunn. to Remove put socket on to bolt.attach a long breaker bar.put bar down to the floor.then get some one to just put a bit of pressure to stop socket springing off.then put key in ignition and flick the key just very quick this then forced the crank to turn clock wise and bolt anti clock wise and will undo the bolt.i had to flick key a few times as the bolt was well tight .just remember only a quick flick of key just so it turns crank over.oh also make sure the breaker bar fits between the anti rollbar and the lower half of the engine to stop it moving out wards. .this is the perfect way.

  7. Hi Joe.so if I put the locking tools on will they allow me to get the chains off and put new ones on.because in the past I normally have to turn crank slightly to line the teeth up to fit in chains.i have looked at the videos and other ones but have not found one actually showing some one taking the chains off.so once locking tools in place will everything just bolt off easily.
  8. Hi thanks I have passed your message on thanks
  9. Hi I'm planning on doing all 4 timming chains and tensioners on my xj8.40 v8.as other day I happen to take rocker cover off to change spark plug boss seals.then I spotted some brown plastic pieces broke up so obviously from the timing chain parts.any way I been looking into what's in volved and see they say to buy a camshaft locking tool but I have in the past just put Tipex marks.so has any one else done it this way if so how did you get on .as the tool kit is £85.00. And I have just paid 179.00 for the full timming kit from Taiwan.on eBay other sellers wanted 289 and 400..so can I have some advice plz on not using locking tool.
  10. Hi my friend has a type 2.0d 2005.he pulled up on his drive then left car for 30mins went to go back out won't start.turns over but nothing not even trying to fire.so I read the codes came up camshaft position sensor.so brought one off eBay fitted it and still the same.i tried a sniff of easy start nothing.
