  1. Great idea. Thank you. Will make an appointment as second opinion always good.
  2. Thanks Steve. I know that the garage say they are rusty but don’t think they are that bad so perhaps should just get the shock absorbers replaced and keep the existing springs. I will check with my hem. They are not jag specialists but have a very good reputation locally and must admit I worry if I give the car to jaguar that the costs may zoom up.
  3. Hi all I’m a fairly new jaguar owner and loving my car despite having to sort a number of issues with the suspension. After 6 months of having the car a loud noise developed on my drivers side which after inspection by the garage I was advised to replace the bushes and arms ( was also an advisory on last MOT) which I did at great cost, however, the noise was still there afterwards though had switched sides and the garage then advised me that I need to now replace the shock absorbers and the springs. With a heavy heart and an empty purse I have agreed to get this done but the garage are struggling to locate 2 suspension springs. Apparently mine are rusty and should be replaced at the same time as putting in the shock absorbers but they have only been able to locate 1 spring through jaguar. Jaguar have advised that there are no springs available worldwide for my XK convertible and we have to wait for the next batch to be made. Whilst my garage can find used parts on line they don’t recommend replacing with used. Any suggestions please?
