I live in France, near Cognac. Bought my X type 2.2 diesel estate five years ago. Lovely car to drive even though it is a bit hard on the low profile tyers. It has now done 108k miles.and has been relatively trouble free except this year the ERG failed. Although all my normal servicing is done by the local Ford garage this time it had to go to a Jaguar main dealer which cost me around £1k to fix but they did clean the Particulate filter at the same time. As the car had to be towed onto the transporter the front towing bolt was used and the driver lost the cover. I have bought a new one but can't get it to fit. Any ideas anyone??

Hi all. X type 2008 Estate 2.2 diesel .A while ago a large piece of HGV flew off and smashed my passenger door mirror. I successfully replaced the mirror but have noticed that the white glass over the indicator bulb is cracked allowing water to enter. A replacement glass is available from Amazon, but can anyone tell me how to fit it.? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I wondered if it is an electrical fault so in view of you experience I'll see if I can find a good Auto Electrician to have a look.

Hi. Joined in November but this is my first post. I live in France and love my X type, a 2008 2.2 diesel estate automatic.Have had it five years and covered 50k miles in it. Jaguar garages are few and far between here and my normal servicing is done by the local Ford dealer. Now the engine warning light has come on and the Ford people say they cannot carry out a diagnosis as it's not exactly the same as the Mondeo. The car starts runs and drives perfectly OK. Does anyone know if there may be a simple fix for this? Sorry if this problem has been discussed before.
