  1. Hi everyone and a Happy New Year, I have a 2019 XF Sportbrake Portfolio and it is out of the manufacturers warranty period. Mine has the 2 litre Ingenium engine and, whilst the car runs well and I love driving it, having read about the timing chain issues that are occurring with JLR vehicles using this engine I am suffering from timing chain fault anxiety. Which, if any, after market warranties should I go for? RAC and AA both sell one and I could go for Jaguar's own. Any experiences with warranties of any brand, good or bad, would be appreciated. Any I buy must cover the timing chain issue should I be unlucky enough to suffer it. My current mileage is only 24k and the car gets regular oil changes more frequently than the Jag recommended change times. Thanks in anticipation. Paul
  2. My XF Sportbrake Portfolio is not due a service for another 11 months according to the Jag schedule, ie every 2 years 20,000 miles. My habit with my previously owned cars has been to do an oil and filter change every 12 months or 10000 miles. I am fairly handy with a spanner and would like to tackle it myself. Has anyone out there done this and is it a diy prospect. If so what are the snags and must I use Castrol Edge Professional oil? The care is now just out of warranty.
  3. Thanks for the welcome message.
  4. Hello to all. I am a new member logged on to say hello. I have never owned a Jaguar, however I have a new XF Sportwagon on order hopefully to be delivered in May (2019). I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to getting behind its wheel. Best wishes to you all and if you have any tips/advice/questions I should ask when collecting the car please let me have them. I live in Cheshire, married and well and truly retired. Paul
