  1. Hi all, lm near Southend on sea essex. Steve xf
  2. Hi all, well got the new discs and pads done yesterday and my god what a difference. Stops spot on and no howling or squeaking thank god. Looked at the old discs and found to have the same issues as yours. Fine cracks in them and also no copper grease anywhere. Pads were in good condition but changed them any way. Was supposed to have this done tomoz but garage got me in yesterday so all good. Have changed to a full set of bremo discs and pads so happy with the car now. I also had a 4 wheel alignment done as well and that has made a difference to the way the car drives as well. Next job re map but that's a few months of yet. Steve xf
  3. Your right it makes sense when you think about I suppose. I can tell you when they told me it didn't as I thought how but on reflection yes it is the break pedal so the sensor would be the issue.
  4. Up date all be it late. The problem was caused by the break vacuum sensor breaking down. Sounds a bit strange but they changed the sensor and all good now.
  5. Will keep you posted about this. Should put a post up Wednesday and hope it's good news.
  6. I know but while you have that smell it is a great feeling and if does make you smile a little more than normal. There is a leather scent you can buy but it's not as good tho. Steve xf
  7. Hi David, I only use autoglym products on my jag ( 2012 xf premium 55000 on the clock ) from washing the out side to cleaning the carpets. Cant go wrong with the leather cleaner and smells great as well. Steve xf
  8. Ricky7774 you have just saved me a lot of time searching for answers to my problem. I have a 2.2d xf premium 55000 on the clock and the breaks have just started to make a noise like you have described. I have booked in with my local garage to have all the breaks done and will be having bremo dics and pads fitted. Glade I found your post and thanks for the info. Steve xf
  9. Hi all, sorry for the late reply but work comes first. I have had the window washer pump replaced and the washer bottle cleaned out ( full of jelly like junk ) . I was having some other work done on the car as well and the chap put a computer on to reset the fault codes. All good and the washer works like it should. Push once to start the cycle and push the button if you need more spray. Hopes this helps you out guys. Steve xf
  10. Hi Andreswiss, not to sure about an s type as I own an xf. You could try looking and posting on the x type forum page for help. Sounds as tho you have a senser issue and need to take it to a garage to get it looked at. Sorry I couldn't be any more help to you and good luck in sorting it out. Steve xf
  11. Hi Trooper, your right about water getting on the fuse box in that area. I asked about this when they worked on the car and they said you could put some pond liner in there if you wont. Not to sure to be honest if that would work but jag should fix this as it's a design fault but you know they wont. I will be getting some work done around that area soon so will look and see what I can come up with to solve the issue and will post as soon as I have some ideas. Steve xf
  12. Hi Matt, glade you got it sorted out and I have had a look at mine and all good. I did find the drain hole was blocked where the filler cap is. Got some wire from halfords ( gear cable to be exact) and cleaned all the drain holes I could find. I was told by the garage to do this every so often to stop an future problems. Steve xf
  13. Hi Neil, just read all the post and yes you can get moisture by the filler cap. I think it gets in if the drain hole is blocked where the filler cap is. It gets in behind the plastic cover housing the filler cap. Did reply to the post earlier about the washer issue but here it is again. The software update was done with other issues I had but the main problem was the washer pump. If you need the address of the garage I went to o will be more than happy to e mail it to you. Hope this helps. Steve xf
  14. Hi all, just a recap on what went wrong. So passengers door would not open by the key fob and the window washers didn't work right ( one wash then no water with the engine running) and the eco came up on the dash. So heres what was done to fix the problems. Passengers door lock and servo replaced. Drivers door lock servo replaced as I felt if one has gone the other wont be far behind. Sorted and works great and the key fobs were re programmed for the new locks. Window washer issue was a new pump and a small software up date. Cant tell what was updated but the window washer and head light washers work properly now. E.C.O fault on the dash was caused by the break vacuum sensor being faulty so that has been replaced and the all faults cleared. I hope this might help someone if they get any of the above issues. Steve xf
  15. Hi all, after getting the car down to the garage I found out its the eco that's the fault not the ecu as first stated. They are looking at the car now so hope to post up what the fault was and the fix for future reference. Steve xf
  16. Hi all, went to go out in the jag today and got an error message on the dash which is ECU. I have a pic to see if anyone can give advice on what it is and the cost to get it sorted out. Only had the car a few months so getting it looked at under warranty but would still like some feed back if anyone knows. Thanks. Steve xf
  17. Hi all, well took my car to a specialist and it turns out that the connector for the spedo arm had worked lose and sorted it out in an hour. They said it is a fault design that jaguar know about but dont wont the hassle to fix. I am sending an e mail to jaguar with all the faults I have had with my xf since I've owned it and see what response I get. I will post if I get anything back. Steve xf
  18. Hi all, just had a strange thing happen to me on the way home from work so thought I would ask the question to the experts, yep you lot. Had my lights on and was driving about 55mph when I noticed the speedo arm was flickering. Its an 2.2d xf on a 12 plate but never noticed it before and wondered if any body else has had this or might k ow why it is doing it. Cant wait to find out what it could be. Thanks. Steve xf
  19. Hi Mike, had the same trouble connecting my phone. I had to turn the blue tooth off then on again to search for the jaguar phone. Hope this helps. Steve xf
  20. Hi all, sorry for the late response to posting. Had a guy round about the washers and he seems to think it's a software problem Work ok without the engine on but not when it's running. He has a friend who he is going to ask to see if he can take a look for me. Will keep you posted if I get any news. Steve xf

  23. Hi hoddyman, I have an xf 2.2d prestige for about a month now. There is a setting on the screen for global opening/closing. Might be worth turning that off and see if it makes a difference. Hope this helps and please keep us posted on any news you get. Steve xf fan
