  1. I’m open to sensible Offers around £4750, a bargain!
  2. Where do I start… this is the 5th Jaguar I’ve had the pleasure of owning. I bought this beautiful Jaguar just over a Year ago, it was in very good condition and had obviously been well looked after. I then started “improving” her. The MOT Advisories were addressed, Both Front Bottom Ball Joints and Arms Replaced, (slight movement and Gaiters split) Rear Axle Oil Seal Replaced, (small oil leak) Front Tyres replaced, Radiator replaced and also changed the Air Con Radiator, new O Rings and re-charged, ( water leak from Radiator) The Gearbox has had a Oil and Filter change. Headlining had just started to sag so I replaced with a new one, looks great! It now drives as a quality Jag should. Bodywork is in extremely good condition, no visible rust on wing lips or door bottoms, in fact I can not see any at all. No Parking Dinks, Dents or Lacquer Peel to be seen. Previously has had some welding, this has been done to a very high standard and is all good underneath now. Has a very long MOT. Perhaps the most important thing is she is ULEZ Compliant as the later engines complied with the Euro 4 Standard Low Emission Zone. Living close to London this is indeed a blessing and the way other Cities are going, more Zones will be announced! This is one of the last x308’s manufactured and Jaguar added a lot of extras to help sales, these include (deep breath) Heated FRONT and REAR Screens, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Connolly Hide, Heated Electric Memory Front Seats, Electric Heated Folding Mirrors, Satellite Navigation, Cruise Control, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Premium Audio System and an In Car Telephone System but I have not tried it but it looks nice! I bought this car as I owned a very “low to the ground” GTO and was waiting for Hip Replacement’s meaning unfortunately it was to difficult to get in and out of, Hips are now replaced and all good so she is not needed now. She comes with Service History, all the Books and Wallet and lots of Receipts. I’m happily Retired so viewing is available almost anytime near High Wycombe, Bucks. I’m sure no one will be disappointed, she really is in top, top condition. Looking for £5250 ono.
  3. Little update, purchased new Lining off EBay, must say, very helpful guy with fitting advice, simple to do and looks great. Tick!
  4. Hi all, looking at my X308 Sagging Headlining front and rear, middle seems ok. Has anyone successfully tried removing the various plastic fixings and over head light and spraying adhesive in to it to stick the lining back up? Thinking it must be worth a try and save a couple of hundred quid…….every little helps! Thoughts?
  5. Well…….I’ve got her Home! It “ obviously “ isn’t a new car and I should have gone to view but not to bad. First thing, surprisingly is the Roof Lining Sagging, funny how all the photos “ just “ managed to not go quite high enough to show it! Common problem but I still think it should have been mentioned in the very comprehensive listing. SRS Light is illuminated, again no mention and looking through the Service Bills it seems it was addressed at a Service in Jan 20 dropped the Steering Column and Airbag to replace the Casette, wrong part supplied so put all back together! Only one Key and one Remote. Am I being picky? other than the above, it looks and drives great, everything seems to be working, so all in all happy! A few jobs to keep me out of trouble!
  6. Thank you, it looks really good and has a good History. Fingers crossed
  7. Hi all, I’m about to collect a 2002 one of the last X308’s tomorrow after “winning” it in the Car & Classic Auction. I have only spoken to the owner on phone, paid for the car and have not viewed it yet, of dear, what could possibly go wrong? Wish me luck…….please!
  8. Well it’s Sold but wow, why are they so cheap? So much car for so little money.
  9. Hi all, reduced price....Anything above £1500 gets her, I still can’t believe why they are worth so little........
  10. Good morning, so after having a look round I’ve priced her at £1950, I “think” is a fair price, we will see! Stay Safe!
  11. hi all, this is the advert I’m composing to sell my S type. After much searching I bought this little gem around 18 months ago as I needed a comfortable car I could get in and out of easily whilst waiting for a Hip Replacement. I can now get in and out of my Mercedes SL after my Operation so this is not now required. I did not like the Cream and Brown/Mushroom interior that a lot of S types have, to my eyes it looks very dated and this one is, I think much more modern looking. It runs absolutely fine, starts first time and has been very reliable. It had a full service when I purchased including Cabin Filters and Fuel Filter and it recently had another Engine Filter and Oil change. It has the odd mark on the body, if you look carefully for them but nothing major. Interior is extremely good. Passed the MOT with no Advisories and the Tester remarked how clean she is underneath, always very nice to hear! Specification includes electric front adjustable seats, AC (works fine) electric adjustable steering rack. Front and rear electric windows. Electric wing mirrors. Space saver spare wheel with jack kit. Cruise control & trip computer, power steering, dual zone climate control, electric parking brake. leather interior, ABS, Auto lights, DSC traction control system, fog lights, ISO connection for child seats, multi function steering wheel, front and side airbags. Remote control locking and the Rear Seats fold flat if required, handy! A long list! The only item that is not working 100% are the Parking Sensors. She has now covered 108k miles which I guess is low for her age. I’m happily Retired so viewing is available at almost anytime, I would be happy to deliver the car for Fuel and my Train Fare home. ( I have a Senior Railcard so cheap travel!) Any questions, please ask. Still undecided on what price would be fair to ask, especially the way the world is at the moment! Comments welcome!
  12. Me again, given her a quick wash and here are the results, I think she looks nice! It has covered 108k miles, I guess it’s low considering her age, 15 years old, wow! any suggestions on an asking price would be most welcome. Thank you once again and stay safe!
  13. Hi Joe, thank you for your response! It’s a 2005 3.0 Petrol. I shall give her a quick wash and put up a couple of photos today, suns out!
  14. Hi all, hope everyone is staying safe. It’s time unfortunately to sell my S-type which I bought when I required a Hip Replacement as it was too painful to use my Mercedes SL! I’m all mended now! If anyone has the time (!) at present to offer an opinion, I would be grateful. I’ve looked to see current values and can not see any with the same Interior as mine, they all seem to be Cream, Brown and Wood. Is mine that unusual or rare?
  15. the following is from a Manufacturers Manual......could they write this if untrue? The octane rating of LPG is higher than the octane rating of petrol, the difference is of about 15 octane number. A higher octane number signifies that LPG has a good anti-knock characteristics and a higher compression ratio. A higher compression ration means an optimise engine providing higher engine efficiency and power to weight ratios.
  16. Will this ever end.......received hub and.......it’s the same as the last one, wrong! Spoke to Breaker, very apologetic and has sent out to me the correct one, I hope, and should have it tomorrow......
  17. Nope, that idea is not going to work, another Hub ordered........
  18. So... thinking I can “re Drill” the Sensor hole making it in line with the Ring. I’ll give it a go, nothing to lose!
  19. ha ha, cracked it! Wrong Hub supplied, all the same apart from where the Sensor fits, slightly off! Bugger!
  20. Agggh...I hate cars. could anyone help, I’ve got a replacement abs sensor but onlooking, the existing one does not seem to be fitting flush on the Hub and the same with the new one. It also seems the magnet is missing the sensor ring, mostly pointing at the cv gaiter edge. What could I have done wrong putting it all together. The Shaft Nut seems to be in the right place on the shaft.....any pointers please?
  21. Thank you for your reply, sort of all done now........all back together and drove a couple of miles all fine. Started is this morning.......Abs Light has come on, wonderful! Up in the air again tomorrow then!
  22. Hi, I’ve just bought my 4th LPG. First a...Mondeo, then Range Rover V8 that I had converted, a Bentley Mulsanne and just bought a BMW X5. I have never understood why it has not become more popular? Maybe I’m lucky that a LPG seller is just up the road. Never, touching wood, have had any problems with LPG and looking forward to saving money in the future!
  23. And so it continues Part Two! The LR Indy using his 10Ton Press has not moved it, I think it’s stuck! Ordered a CV Joint from a breaker so hopefully it will be plain sailing when it arrives......we shall see!
