  1. Thanks for that guys. i have done some digging and seems that fitting this to a non-nav car is going to be more work that i am willing to commit to (read risk !Removed! up stuff). Have decided on a 'normal' head unit, posted questions here: https://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/topic/19556-04-27d-post-facelift-non-nav-stereo-upgrade-what-do-i-actually-need/ Is a pity as really fancied the jag doid stuff, looks like it was ment.... such is life.
  2. Hi all, so yet another raido thread as i can't quite find what i need in the forum (cross eyed reading the various theads) as it seems the photos i need have disappeared! So i have an 2004 S-type 2.7d without Nav. My plan is to fit a Sony-XAV-AX100 For this i assume i need: the head unit https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/in-car-receivers-players/xav-ax100 A facia; the Connects CT24JG04 seems to be the right https://connects2.com/Product/ProductItem/CT24JG04">https://connects2.com/Product/ProductItem/CT24JG04 (they have others, but seem to be for cars WITH nav, but only this one says without, a little confusing) A harness adapter; again Connects seem to be the answer with there CT10JG01 https://connects2.com/Product/ProductItem/CT10JG01 Steering wheel control adaptor connects CTSJG002.2 https://connects2.com/Product/ProductItem/CTSJG002.2 ;WITH a sony patch lead http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/ctsjg002-2-jaguar-x-type-s-type-steering-stalk-control-adaptor seem to supply both) What I am then unsure about is do i need an aerial adaptor like the AUTOLEADS PC5-100 https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/autoleads-pc5-100-jaguar-s-type-x-type-din-aerial-adaptor.html I have stuck the part numbers in so if the links die hopefully google can rescue.
  3. Hi all, i'm looking at this, but have to actually fit a touch screen 1st as is just the standard stereo (lots planned to be done to the car as is low spec), does anyone know how hard installing the touch screen is and how much the jag droid actually costs? Mole
  4. Hi, So my 1st post, maybe should have done a less controversial one. Had a 75 about 8 years ago, was the top of the range connoisseur something or other. It had the Diesel engine and automatic. That engine and gearbox combo was sad, painfully slow. and the economy was probably about the same as the diesel s-type as that engine was under powered. The car didn't like corners, made hard work of them unless doddering around them. Also the ride wasn't as insulating as you would have hoped. The electronics were just are reliable as Jaguar, sadly. All the interior parts (other than the instrument cluster which was awesome) were cheap, they were trying to make it look like a jag, but all expense spared. It probably felt bigger than the S-type inside, and i do think was a more hansom car outside. And my understanding on the S-type petrol is that while its a modified version of the ford Duratec engine, the engineering for that engine primarily came from porsche not Ford. you can tell i really wanted the petrol version not the diesel of the s type 😉 the 75 wasn't a bad car, but was a lot more show than go and the corners cut showed, especially with a little wear.... my tuppence worth at least
