  1. Having just got our Premium Luxury back on the road (yesterday) after 3+ years in our garage, we have only a couple of minor issues hopefully someone can help with. We need a half decent or decent dust/anti knock cover - has anyone any recommendations? And secondly, a 2021 headache in a 2011 car. The satnav seems tortuously slow; is there a way to upgrade? Plus we've forgotten the password which would allow us to connect our phones to the bluetooth (which, by the way, is maybe only available for the phone system rather than for playing music? ) Any and all help very gratefully received.
  2. Well it's ages since my first post, but yesterday we picked up our 2011 V8 Premium Luxury from servicing/etc after 3+ years in our garage. It needed gas in the aircon, a battery, key batteries, one tyre, a shock absorber bush and front brakes. Not too horrendous. So in the lovely sunshine, we went on a distinctly non-Covid friendly jolly. Not too far from home, but still probably shouldn't have done it but we did. And yes, I'd driven it lots before but no, I'd never used either dynamic or sports mode 🤨 ... I have now !!!!!!! What a beast. Made better by hearing the Jag expert we'd gone to confirm what I already believed, ie it's apparently quite a rare beast Anyway. I searched the forums but couldn't find anyone talking about dust/anti-knock covers for use inside rather than weatherproof ones. Up to now we've just been using sheets but I felt it now merited an upgrade lol Can anyone recommend a good one? Or point me in the direction of an existing thread? Secondly, the only real issue we have is technology related. The satnav is tortuously slow, and we can't recall the password for connecting phones to the car's system. Any clues anyone? I'll post these questions in the XF club as well, but thought simply getting it up and running again was worth a general post!
  3. Thanks Jimbov8. It crossed my mind a main dealership wouldn't be the cheapest route but the car had always been main dealer serviced previously. How on earth would I know who is a recommended Jaguar specialist? Recommended by who? For sure I don't want to get ripped off! I'd factored in potentially tyres, battery, service. Hadn't thought of the fuel or filter or any other stuff. But I accept it might need it. So very likely need someone to pick it up or do the very basics (jump start, siphon fuel/refill?) actually at home to get it on the road then new battery and all the rest once it's at a garage? Very grateful for your input. Just have to look at it that it's one more first world nightmare to overcome!
  4. Hello everyone - my son and I are soon to inherit his late dad's 2010/11 XF V8 Premium. Excellent - I know from experience I love the drive, and our son is desperate to get his 18 year old hands on the wheel albeit insurance issues might delay that somewhat. My reason for joining/posting, though, is to get advice from people who might very well know, what's the best thing we can do to get the car back on the road. It's been sitting in our garage, with no battery conditioning/charging, only dust covers to keep it from exterior damage. For going on for four years. Not the best, we know that, but a long-drawn-out Will process has meant no choice in the matter. I was thinking the best might be to contact the local Jag dealership & pay whatever it takes to get them to pick up or start it, get it to them and have a service, new tyres if needed, etc. What does anyone think? (or is there a better forum within the group I should post in?) Fingers crossed someone can help :)
