  1. Crackin idea, thanks will do that tomorrow. Hopefully it will have stopped raining then.
  2. Thanks Jim. Just got to figure out how to torque the four nuts with a spanner. Only have a torque wrench that is used with sockets. I guess you know it is not possible to use sockets, without turning the pin at the same time. needs some thought. . . .
  3. Is there a torque setting and if so what is it please ? For the rear anti-roll bar drop links.
  4. PaulT. So, press start/stop without using the brake pedal to turn the ignition on. When the screen shows its home menu, Press the Navigation screen button. Press destination entry. Press and hold the colon after the word “entry”, at the top of the screen till the screen changes, to two columns of buttons. Press “parts information” top of left column, the screen will change again. At the bottom there will be 3 groups of 2 digits. The middle two are the year of the mapping info. Ignore the back button. It only goes back to the two column screen, if you have had a look at the other options. To get out of this “hidden” menu/info, you lock the car, wait approx a minute, unlock car and start the engine system boots up normally. My XF is a ‘14 yr model, made in ‘13, which I bought in ‘19, it still had the ‘13 mapping loaded. Hope that helps.
  5. PaulT, There is a way to determine the date of the map system. It means going into the “secret” menus. I can’t remember the process exactly, but I recall the site I was on where I saw the instructions. I will hunt around and come back to you. Assuming no one else has told you

    Door locks

Can anyone please explain 1) How the door locks work eg is there a vacuum pump, a solenoid, something else ? 2) How to remove the interior door trim to access the mechanism. All doors will lock when necessary/required. But F/N/S door will not unlock when either the internal button, (under the menu/nav screen etc) or the fob button is operated. All the others unlock. ’Er indoors is getting a bit testy, thinks I don’t want her in the car . . . . . . 🤔 Thanks for any help.
  7. Got one as well from something called Bisonville23. Guess Admin can think themselves lucky as, haven’t figured out how to forward it to them.
  8. Hi Paul, The cost was £175 Give or take a couple of £. I spent a winters evening driving around loading it. So it probably was as you say a Q4 version. The updates don’t seem to be as up to date as commercially available sat navs. I am reluctant to use google maps in case some nosey copper spies me touching the phone 🤔 Have just checked there is a 2020 version available covering Europe for £169. https://www.jaguar.co.uk/owners/incontrol/map-updates.html Hi Charles, I have a portable sat nav which is usually in the Mercedes as that is so old it predates everything we are becoming used to now. It has some odd thing called an ignition key ???
  9. “I've justbought a 2016 XF and there are no updates for the sat nav which ae 2015 maps. I have contacted Jaguar and they are looking into this. I will keep you updated.“ I find this a bit odd, I bought a 2014 year model XF last year. I found that it had the original installed maps from 2013. I ordered what was (last year) the latest available maps which was 2018. It was supplied on a usb stick. As mentioned earlier it was expensive, and it took forever to load. The paperwork supplied with it said it would take 3+hrs to complete.
