  1. Yeah I had a 3.0L SE a long while back, that had loads of extras including the sunroof which seems to be very rare for some reason. Probably because fitting one after the fact is a complete pain. I had to move from that one because the sills completely rusted through. It's a shame because it was one of the last ones built by Jaguar before they started fitting Ford engines. But it was bought by a Jaguar Specialist who wanted it for his wife, he wanted to restore it. Oh sweet that's what we like to hear. Just simple things to make like a little easier. I do like the lighting inside the XF too. I'm more pleased, was having a heart attack for a minute there. lol
  2. Hi Peter, yeah I thought because mine is the XS all of the looms and such would already be installed and everything would be plug and play. It's just not that simple unfortunately. Right now I'm looking at a nice XF (2010 3.0 TD S Premium Luxury) which has all the bells and whistles already installed for £6k. Going for a jag again because I just feel like they're a nice place to be inside, I don't need super sports drifting round corners. I just want to not have pot holes jerk my back and a nice interior. It also seems that the XF is more economical, even though it's a 3.0L it's reported as getting around 30 mpg whereas the 2.7L S-Type I have at the minute is averaging 19 mpg and thats without using Sport mode. Would be nice to get a few more miles between fill ups heh. Well done on paying off your mortgage! That's the dream, nice car, paid off mortgage, family and a secure job. lol Dave
  3. Okay update, the mechanic couldn't sort the Parking Brake flashing on and off. Said it might need a new ECM. I got it back today and figured I had nothing to lose running SDD again. I managed to find this: The Electronic Parking Brake. So I ran that and now the brake works fine. So I swapped back the old seats that don't have the DSM installed and they work fine now. Getting it back to standard so I can sell her and I think I'm going to get an XF, rather than trying to install all the upgrades I wanted in this one. (Now that the government are offering 5% deposit for mortgages I have a bit more money to spend)
  4. Aye no worries mate, I will post here as the story progresses. Hopefully it'll help someone out in the future before they do the same as me.
  5. Ah that's fair, I guess there's rules about not being held responsible. lol I've shipped it off to a mechanic, so hopefully he can fix whatever I've broken. He's not an auto-electrician though so I may need to track one down.
  6. Update: I ran the diagnostics went to "Extras" and ran the "Configure New Modules - Front electronics module" and "Configure New Modules - Rear electronics module" ......now, as well as the seats still not working, my electronic parking brake light flashes and I get a message on the dash "Could not initialise parking brake" .....yay.
  7. Raistlin, wondering if you can still help? So, I got the SDD and a mongoos cable, plugged it in to the car, made a connection, read the VIN, read the diagnostics and it came up with all those bubbles with green ticks showing whats installed. The Driver Seat Module (DSM) is coming up as an orange question mark and I can't for the life of me figure out how to tell it the module is now installed.
  8. Obvious first question is: Have you tried changing the fob battery? If yes then it might be a fault with the door module, behind the trim in on the drivers side door. Also check Fuse F22 hasn't blown. Should be in the fuse box in the drivers footwell.
  9. Beeping usually alerts to a fault, if you can't spot anything obvious have you checked the DTC codes with an OBD reader or using the inbuilt reader?
  10. As far as I know there isn't a manual override, not without reaching the bolts and lifting the seat to access the motors. If the motor is working and the seat is twisting it sounds like it's caught on something? Have you tried sitting in it, or pushing weight down on it as you try to move it back with the switch?
  11. Awesome, thanks for the reply Raistlin! So all of the manual stuff is done, I can just get my mechanic to program it? I think he has the computer thing, hangs it on the steering wheel and plugs it in. Can the occupancy sensors be configured from the computer too, or will I need to swap them over from the doner car? If they need swaping, where can I find them?
  12. Hi guys, So I have another thread about retrofitting a satnav into my 2007 S-Type Diesel XS, this one is about retrofitting 10 point memory seats into it. The seats it came with had no memory module, so what I have done is: Installed memory switch pack in the door handle Installed door module Installed seat with a programmable seat module However, although the dash will ping and say "memory 1 saved" and "memory 1 recalled" the seats don't move. They won't even move with the switches on the seat itself. Is there a module I'm missing? Or does it need a computer plugging in to tell the car it has memory seats? I figured it would be plug and play, since the dash recognised the switch pack straight away. But no joy. I have noticed some differences in the DM23 20-Way socket under the seat. But I can't find anywhere that tells me what the wires correlate to. The Doner car has The New Car has [] [] [] [] [R/W] [Y/R] [U/W] [N/O] [N/G] [] [] [] [] [] [R/W] [Y/R] [N/O] [U/W] [N/G] [N/G] Doner New [B] [W/U] [U/Y] [N/G] [Y] [U] [U] [] [] [] [B] [W/U] [U/Y] [] [Y] [U] [U] [] [] [] Do I need to move the Brown/Green (N/G) cable from the 10th pin on the top of the new cars DM23 to the 4th pin of the bottom so it matches the Doner car's configuration? Also is there a way to tell from these pics if there are the wires for heated seats already in place? Thanks Dave
  13. Hi guys, So I have a 2007 2.7D S-Type XS and I'm looking at adding some of the optional extras that weren't added at the factory. One of my first upgrades is a touchscreen sat nav. I have trawled through the forums and there's conflicting advice some say it's plug and play, some say it's impossible. From what I gather the stype either has the sat nav wiring loom or it doesn't. So when I pull my standard stereo out, how do I know if it has the wiring loom? Pics of with loom and without would be amazingly helpful, because I don't know what I'm looking for.
