  1. I'm after some advice please. My 2016 XF media system will not 'do' Android Auto, so I'm thinking of purchasing a used media player from a Jaguar XF 2020. My reasons are that I'd like more functionality and also I'd like to use Apps & satnav from my phone on the car display. My questions.... Do I just need to purchase the display head unit? Will it be a direct replacement and have the necessary correct plugs to just connect? Will I need to replace the small panel in the centre console? (Mine has 1 x USB & 1 x SD slot for satnav & 12V cigarette lighter power source) I've seen some newer ones have 2 x USB & a HDMI slot. Would I be correct in assuming the satnav (& software) are within the display head unit and are 'serviced' from one of the USB slots? Will I have to 'code' the 'new' device to my car after installation? My car currently has the 8" unit with 4 x buttons each side and I'm assuming the new unit will be 10" and the 'buttons' will be electronic buttons within the touch screen. I'm also assuming it will fit!
  2. Hi Conrad, welcome. I too and new to Jaguar ownership (5 weeks now) and I'm still pleased with my 2016 XF. I'm bust posting about gathering information on InControl and gadgetty things for Jaguar. I also hope to be amongst the quality posters of information & relevant questions people generally don't know how to ask.....
  3. I have a 2016 XF 2.0 Diesel (Auto) and I'm about to purchase 2-years 'Remote' subscription. Can anyone tell be just what this will give me please? What I'm hoping for is: 1. Start car remotely (Leaving the doors locked) 2. Control of Windscreen demisters, front & back 3. Control of heated seats 4. Control of car temperature 5. Connecting my Android phone (Galaxy 9+) through USB (using Android Auto) to hopefully let my car access the internet through my phone 6. Use apps on my phone on the car screen (i.e. Satnav) due to the high cost of car satnav updates. Mine has the 8" screen with 4 buttons down each side. I'm also making the assumption that I don't have to install a SIM card in the slot in the boot (for general internet access) because the car can 'talk' to the 'system' already because I can see the journeys I have made through my InControl account online.
  4. Did anyone ever come up with providing a usable/searchable list? I'm looking for one in Suffolk 🙂
  5. I purchased a Jaguar XF recently (2016 model) and the incontrol services ran out in 2018. Can anyone tell me how I subscribe to getting it enabled for my car please? All I want to do is start the car from in the house on cold mornings!
  6. Hello all. Thank you for posting your replies. I've now had an inexpensive ODB plugged in to find out more info. It came up with one fault: P20ee I've cleared this fault and it turned off the engine management light. Web results for this code (P20ee) indicate: OBD code P20EE means SCR NOX Catalyst Efficiency below Threshold Bank 1 Issue I'm hoping that this fault won't keep reappearing. Extra info, The car is 2.0L Diesel 49K miles
  7. My Jaguar XF has just had the engine management light come on but I don't know why. I lifted the bonnet & instantly noticed the engine was very hot (too hot to touch) but the radiator at the front was cold. I checked the oil which was OK, then I checked the temperature of the water coolant which was very hot when I put my finger in it. Is it likely that I have a blockage?
