  1. The lead goes into the rear bumper where the parking sensors are- would have to remove the panels etc to see where it leads. Will keep investigating - such fun these cars ...!
  2. Any ideas what this little gizmo does? Must be related to the problem with the rear parking sensors but not sure where it goes or what it should be attached to...?

  4. I have the same problem with my 2004 S Type rear sensors. Have checked the fuse and listened for the ticking noise from each sensors, all working okay. Can I ask- what's a module connector and where would I find it? Thanks
  5. I have a similar problem with my S Type rear parking sensors. Have checked the fuse and listened for the ticking from each sensor and all working okay. Can I ask what is a control box? Thanks
  6. Hi All Have had this car for nearly a month now and have managed to sort out some basics - have had it checked over by a Jag Specialist (as advised on this forum, thanks), and these are the outstanding issues: 1) Excessive play in right rear lower shock absorber bush 2) Both front upper ball joints gaitors split, right rear drop link gaitors split 3) Rear track control arm gaitors split My question is- which of these do you think is the most urgent, and which do you think I could do myself (with a bit of Youtube help)? Thanks & any suggestions appreciated Michael
  7. Hi All Have just had a mini service and as expected as the car has been little used, both front and back brake discs corroded and worn. Jaguar specialist garage (Chester Jag Centre) have quoted me £700 to replace disks & pads. Is this a reasonable price? Thanks again
  8. Hi All Me again - had this car for 2 weeks and loving it but finding the list of things to fix is getting longer 😬 Started the car in the pouring rain last night and this message came up with an amber light on dash. It went off after a few minutes but just wondered if I should be worried- the car performance was actually fine, so maybe it was due to the wet conditions? The service book says it's a Red Priority Indicator but it was definitely an amber one. Thanks again for your help on here - it's been a really useful resource. Michael
  9. Just purchased this car and really annoyed with myself as I didn't notice the interior roof lining is sagging a bit at the back. I know it's a common problem but can anyone suggest how to fix? Thanks (again) Michael
  10. Hi All Quick question...has anyone used Halfords for servicing an S Type at all? Have just bought an 04 Reg S Type and not sure whether to use a local garage or a main dealer. Maybe Halfords would fall somewhere in between cost-wise? Thanks Michael
  11. Hi All I hope I'm posting this in the right place.... Have just bought this car having owned one for 8 years a long time ago....... First impressions are good but like any purchase of an 18 year old vehicle, a few niggling issues that need addressing over time: 1) rear parking sensors don't work 2) petrol gauge is a bit unpredictable - sometimes goes off then re-sets to normal reading 3) performance - I may be looking through rose-tinted specs but it seems a bit sluggish- starts well, and once at motorway speed it's fine, but through the gears not the usual acceleration, Sport mode disappointing too..... 4) usual cloudy headlights - someone suggested toothpaste? lol Any tips, suggestions would be really appreciated- sorry the list is so long Michael
