  1. Hello, The best I have had from my S-TYPE 2.7 is 53.9 to Cornwall, but driving Miss Daisy did'nt come into it. My wife has had a bad neck injury in the past, and does not do fast, but then nor do I. So the trip was no more than 65mph. normally I get around 42 on half decent roads, and 26 when towing our twin axle caravan. I have no idea what the best figure other people have, but it may even improve when it is run in, as it has only done 23000 miles from new. If I was to keep it until it is fully run in I would around 100 years old at rate of 3000miles a year. Now sadly I am selling the Jaguar for none other than personal reasons, and certainly not to do with the car. Regards Trevor . S.
  2. Hello Maggie, I purchased an S-Type last year, and I only got one key. I was told it would cost upwards of £250 to get a new one. In the costing was the price to program the key which, at the main dealer was around £45 +vat. Being a bit of a "I'm not paying that" kind of chap I found an independant Jaguar dealer who did the job for £35 +vat, in doing so he quoted me a lot lower rate for all the servicing etc. Just an idea to look on the web, and tap in independant jaguar dealer/workshops in you area. In the end I bought a used fob, a new transponder, and blade. All in £115. Hope this helps Kind regards Trevor.
  3. Hi Steve, when I get into the car, all is quiet, put in the key, and do not turn it the noise begins. I do not know how long, but it goes on for quite some time. Even if you remove the key it continues for 2-3 minutes. I keep the car inside my workshop, and I am going up there today so I can get a better idea of how long it lasts once the key is in. I did post the issue with the Jaguar voice command not responding, could they be related ? Thanks for coming back to me, I have had the car just under three months now, and still finding my way around it. Kind regards Trevor.
  4. Hello, I have an S-type 2006, and I have tried for the first time since I have owned it to program the voice system. However being a techno dope I fell at the first hurdle. I pressed the steering wheel button as it says in the hand book, and waited for the beep, nothing, over and over again. Is there another way, or is it faulty. Would anybody know please. Regards Trevor.
  5. Hello, has anyone experienced any odd noises from behind the dash of an S-TYPE. it happens as soon as the key is inserted, and continues even when the key is removed. I thought it was the air con at first, but it is not. It is like a printer running in the background. Any ideas would be a help. Thanks for now, Trevor.
  6. Hello all, I have just joined the club today, so thought I would say hello, and happy new year to you all. I have recently bought myself a 2.7 S-TYPE 2006/06 with only one previous owner, and 20,000 miles with full service history. Had to have a bit of spray work done, and it is as good as I can get it now. Having read the story of the XF from another new member I can only say I am so sorry to hear that an XF can be so defective, and so sorry for him. Has any body else found the kind of problems that he has ? I am new to the "on line " posting thing, so bare with me. Kind regards Trevor

Hello Steve, and thank you for the welcome.

I tried to introduce my self, but I am new to this forum/club online thing, and could not even find how to do it.

      Thanks again. Regards Trevor
