  2. Sorry to hear of your loss Sandypip. But that was a great post! I hope you have a blast with your new car it sounds fab!
  3. I had a mark x years ago great big thing it was too. First time in the garage it went through the floor!! I love my s type an early model in silver with lots of miles on the clock but looks and feels like new. A joy to drive and a head turner too.
  4. Yes I love the effortless drive the comfort and the power when you need it. Mine s type is a weekend drive roll on Saturday :-)

  6. Hi I've not had my S Type 3 litre auto T registration for long and its still under a short warranty. Its a great car though there is a bit of a niggle still. There is a smell of hot oil type of thing coming into the cab especially on start up. The garage has had a look and replaced a worn anti freeze hose as that was dripping onto the engine. Also a bit of headlining had fallen onto the engine and was burnt this was sorted but unfortunately the smell is still there. The engine is running very well, the exhaust is sound. The garage man said the breather pipes were ok (and I couldn't see any smoke or leaks from them) and anyway had been replaced last year. Any ideas at all? Cheers Alf
  7. thanks steve it looks like an interesting and supportive club

  8. Hi I'm new to JOC having recently purchased an S Type 1999 model 3 litre petrol V6 auto. I have a limited warranty but the couple of problems have been put right under this warranty from the dealer with no quibble. I owned a Mark X years ago and loved it but this is a fabulous motor. Fast and the steering is so direct. I had a lovely W124 Merc before and I thought it would be difficult to replace but I'm pleased with my choice. I would recommend a good service history record though and a warranty of some description, it can pay dividends. I hope you find a good one!
