  1. If I were you I would check out one of the many auto detailing specialists , there are sure to be some in your area, this sort of thing is right up their street.
  2. In a recent visit to my local dealer I had a good look around an xfs sportbrake and came away very impressed indeed.
  3. The paint on all modern cars seems weaker than it used to be.But the trade off is the huge range of colours available and the brilliant finish that can be achieved.

    My new xf

I too have a 08 xf and have never experienced bumps and thumps from the boot but i have heard of this from other than silverfox it is a problem that would drive me nuts but is silverfox recieving a correct diagnosis...i have my doubts and i do sympathise with him.I am sure you will love your xf coco my own experience has been all good ,i have owned several Jaguars over the years and the xf is the best yet indeed i intend to change for a facelift xfs later this year.Welcome to the forum.
  5. I believe you can still get a spare wheel but it is an option my xf is an early 08 model premium luxury d. and the spare wheel was standard.I believe it still should be.
  6. I dont do any motorway driving.....there are none north of Aberdeen, but using the xf in the manner for which it was designed i get around 28 mpg from my 2.7 diesel the 3.0l should give more.
  7. You are making a good decision the xf is without a doubt one of the best cars jaguar have ever built and im not just saying that because i own one.Over 100 awards cant be bad.My xf is a 2008 premium luxury diesel and i have had no real problems. There were a number of service actions carried out on some of the earlier cars mine included and early problems such as sticking fuel filler flap and gear selector will have been dealt with on an 09...10 plate. If you are buying the s model the 10 plate on models will have the full sports seats which by all acounts are superb.Hope you find your xf soon i know you and your wife will love it.
  8. Iremember watching the show back in the seventies. The car was a series 2 xj coupe with mods.As you say the car was xj12 5.3.Ihave seen similar cars in the jaguar club mags but have never seen one in the metal.
  9. I used to own a xj6 sov. 1995 x300 and the change from ist to 2nd could be quite noticable but still smooth as were the other gear changes but your car sounds ok to me, remember later cars are greatly improved over earlier models with changes now truly seamless.Idont think you should worry too much, just enjoy your xj an excellent car.
  10. I used a filling station recently that i have never used before and the attendant.....yes attendant said he was surprised how easily my xf was to fill up, stating that some xf cars were very slow to refuel.Ipersonaly have experienced no problems in this area but perhaps there is a common problem in line with your own.
  11. I used autoglym for years and their resin polish is really good but nowadays i use Maguiars tech wax2 and ultimate wax.
  12. Wheel clamping has always been banned in scotland i think. It is great to hear that it is now banned in england and wales it should have been years ago.
  13. I owned the same model xj many years ago and 14 mpg was about normal.
  14. Why would anyone do this.Bring back hanging.....only joking, but awful way to treat a fabulous machine.
  15. The budget tyres wont help, not what i would expect from Jaguar.I am no expert but have been driving for forty years and in my opinion your car should not judder when braking your disc/pad set up must be wrong ie. warped discs. As a prestige brand customer you deserve better.Hope you get it all sorted.
  16. My xf mirror only dips on the left and doesnt always dip that much.
  17. I have never tried them but a friend has and he is very impressed with them. Living in the north of scotland i am seriously considering them.
  18. Glad you like your xf Bill as i am sure you heve found out by now its not just a great car its the whole Jaguar experience. And it is still something special to own a Jaguar especially in GB.
  19. I am one of the lucky ones my 2008 premium luxury has a spare wheel.I would not feel confident on a journey of any distance without one.
  20. My xf is five years old now so it is one of the first xf cars on the road and there is no temperature guage it would appear the car was designed that way.
  21. Never heard of this problem silverfox.I have never experienced this with my xf mind you mine is an original style model but as newer cars are usually an improvement over previous design i find your dealers explanation hard to accept.
  22. Had the same snow in the boot experience.I find the winter mode does seem to work.
  23. I was not sure at first but i now prefer the facelift look over the look of my 08.model 2,7d pl. the original xf still looks great however.
