  1. Hi guys, Glad I looked on here today,I've got same car that does exact same thing, sounds like the dash is alive lol I guessed it was all the little stepper motors but have to say it is noisy? Still as has been said if jaguar say it's ok then it must be? Haven't tried the heater off though so will try that? Thanks Danny
  2. Well just got back from the rolling road and not quite sure what he did but wow what a difference! The car is putting out 228.1 BHP and 492 NM torque massive difference, he said they did do the work but he tweaked it slightly and now it's amazing. Glad I had it done now. Was worried I'd spent all that money for nothing being as money is tight at moment, one happy bunny. :)
  3. Thanks Mick, I have the car booked for rolling road on tues so I'll find out for sure then, to be honest can't really tell if it. Feels any different? Anyway will report back.. :)
  4. Well I have my S booked for the rolling road on tues to check power output etc... At least I'll know one way or t'other. Lol
  5. Cheers Ricky, I will be looking for a rolling road tomorrow had couple people say different things, one says it was immediately noticable and another suggested they might have just done a DPF remap and not a power/economy one something to look into I think.
  6. Okay so I have just driven back from the garage after having my car remapped and the DPF removed and to be honest it doesn't feel that much different? I thought it would blow my socks off when I drove home but NO! I didn't get any paperwork other than the receipt to show me before and after torque readings and be be honest I am kinda doubting the work was actually done??? So would anyone be able to put my mind at ease? Is there someway of finding out without causing offence to the guys at the garage that done the work? Thanks in advance guys, Danny
  7. I have looked into having my DPF removed on my S type and I've been told that they don't actually remove it but its contents? Does anyone know if this is right? One of the reasons for me considering this removal is it grounds out when ever I go go over sleeping policemen etc... So if they do leave it in place then this worn necessarily solve my problem?
  8. Hi guys, I have just had my rear suspension checked out because of it grounding over sleeping policeman and going up sharp inclines etc.. I thought something was wrong with it as I have never had a problem with any grounding in my X type, I've been told it's the DPF that is grounding out and after confirmation with another member (Mick T) I wanted to ask if anyone else with a 2.7 has the same problem? I did consider having the suspension raised a few mm but it seems removing the DPF is a common way to go? Any thoughts? :)
  9. Hi, And thank you for reply, yes it does have a removable tow bar, I've not used it myself and probably won't but I was thinking on same lines broken spring or shocks just wanted someone to confirm? I think next step is to put into garage to get an idea of cost, thanks again, Danny
  10. Hi, My S type has a very low back end so much so whenever I go over a speed hump or up a steep gradient it grounds, I've only had the car since end of July this year and my previous car was an X type, just wanted to know if anyone had any other similar issues and what they think it maybe? I've got a warranty with the car but they are saying they are not willing to cover it as it was there when I bought the car but I didn't go up any steep gradients or over any speed bumps to notice anything wrong? The car has been well looked after with only 68k on the clock but for first couple weeks I had it there was a starting problem where the garage had keep it for a while to figure out what was wrong, turned out it had Jaguar watch fitted. Anyway just want to know what anyone thought? Thanks in advance as always.
  11. Hi, I have one on my S and on my X type, my X type went through the mot with it on for past five years and I've not had any problems this past August however it was noted down as an advisory, was told that the police can give you a fine if they feel like it but not sure why? Both mine are spring loaded. If you look on the jaguarforum.co.uk you will find loads of info about this very subject.
  12. Hi As far as I'm aware there are two, both in the areas you mention? although someone maybe better qualified to say? If you cover the front and rear sensors on the mirror if you have lights set to auto they do switch on. I don't think they are adjustable other than the delay on the arm/ stalk Danny
  13. Hello Dave,Yes I will put some pictures of my cat on soon as for mpg depends on journey around town I get approx 22ish on a run I've had 36mpg not quite as good as a diesel but still not too bad although I would like to get an S type diesel but can't afford it at the moment money is a bit tight so going to keep my X for as long as needed. :)
  14. Hello guys & girls, Newbie here just saying hello, I've been a member of the jaguar forum for some time now but this is my first time here. I own a 2.5V6 AWD 2001/51 X type in metallic silver and have had the same car for coming on 6 years I'm very happy with my car and would only change it if something drastic went wrong or I saw a fab deal on a diesel S type? Not sure what else to say at this point but always happy to help if I can.
