Where was the broken wire? I'm trying to get the front bumper off to check the loom, but it isn't budging,so I'd like to know if I'm wasting my time if the wire is easy to get to elsewhere.
  3. Hi Dave it's a 2005 S Type Sport 3.0 auto.
  4. I got my code reader today, but it wont load the drivers on my laptop.
  5. The code reader didn't arrive today, so I'm still in the dark regards the cause and the light is still on. I have recently disconnected the RCCM, whilst I try to fix a burnt track in it's PCB. It's odd that the EML has appeared within 6 miles of me doing this. Te RCCM shouldn't control anything except the Climate Control, however I have noticed that the boot only opens on the fob now, not with the button in the car or on the boot. Could be a connection, but I wanted to see what the code reader said before I put the RCCM back in, as yet unfixed. I'll put it back in as is and see what happens..... What are going to do about your EML, is it a new cat needed or a sensor?

Those links that I posted should help you. ;) cheers
  7. OP, how did you get on, did an oil change help?
  8. Just ordered an ELM327 myself, so worried now in case I've wasted my money.

Common issue that I'm in the middle of dealing with at the moment. First, do you have Sat Nav fitted? If so the route is different as the RCCM is located behind the glove box, whereas non SatNav models it is behind the radio console. The heating and cooling system uses: 1) a valve which is located just behind the radiator on the drivers side. It is two pots with three pipes coming off it. 2) Remote Climate Control Module, RCCM, to interprete what you are asking the system to do in order to open or close the valve as required. One scenario is that that the valve can fail, which takes out the RCCM. As the valve is £80 and the RCCM is £500, it makes sense to find out what has happened. This my main point of reference: DIY: Diagnose It Yourself - JaguarClimateControl.com Just remember the driver and passenger are reversed. This was also helpful: http://www.justanswer.com/jaguar/6ra...compresor.html Take your time, see what you find.
  10. Same position myself. No issues with EML since I bought it 3 months ago, plenty of others though. I filled up at Tescos yesterday and noticed the EML light on the way home.I've ordered an ELM327 reader, which should be here tomorrow, so I'll let you know what I find as well.
  11. Looking forward to being part of a friendly forum and to exchanging help and advice. Only had my Jag for 3 months, but know it far too well already!
