  1. Thanks for the comments. I still haven't bought mine. But the cheapest for the Dunlops for me is Black Circles at £240 each.
  2. Again thanks for the comments. I'll probably stick with the Dunlops then.

    XF niggles

Thanks 2010XFR. Sorry for the delay replying, I've just returned from holiday. I will look into this, however I'm worried that if I start messing eith these things that it may get worse. It's really only noticable when you have the stereo off.

    XF niggles

Thanks for the reply Trevor. But I think I may have left it a bit late now. The manufacturers warranty runs out today, and I'm off on holiday tomorrow anyway. Not sure if these things would be covered by the extra 6 months warranty the independent dealer I bought the car from gave me. Will have to check on return from my holds. Although my previous experience with creaks and squeaks is that they never really manage to sort things out. They usually come back after a while. Just wondering whether I have the latest software in the car, anyone know how to check. Can updates only be done by a dealer? Regards
  6. Thanks for that.My XF currently has Dunlops all round, I haven't tried Pirellis for a long time, I always thought they wore quickly. I'm still inclined to try the Michelins. Just have to shop around for the best price.
  7. My XF has 255/35R20 wheels and both rear tyres are now close to the legal limit. I knew the tyres were worn when I bought the car, but was a little shocked at the prices of tyres. Michelins are around £280 each at Costco. Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for cheaper tyres, I've always gone with Michelin on previous cars as I've found they seem to last a lot longer. But I was considering Kumho tyres for the XF, as they are a lot cheaper (around £180 fitted) but is it a false economy. The current tyres are Dunlops all round. These are around £240 each. Any thoughts (preferably from personal experience) appreciated. Graham

    XF niggles

I've had my Xf for just over a month now and I'm loving it. However there are a few niggles. Firstly the volume on the stereo reduces when reversing etc, and sometimes doesn't return to the original volume and I have to manually adjust it. Secondly I'm using a USB hard drive with all my MP3 files on it. Again it mostly works flawlessy, but on two occasions it seems to have forgotten where it was on returning to the car, and simply started playing the first track. And finally, my XF has a sunroof. The headlining around where the sunroof retracts squeaks and creaks a little. It is minor, but as the only creak in the whole car it's annoying. The car is still under manufacturers warranty until the 18th September, but is any messing around at this stage likely to just make the problem worse, and is something like this even covered by warranty. Thanks in advance for any advice. Graham
  9. Hi Tats. The manual I have is a bit annoying as it mentions all kinds of things I haven't got but doesn't say that they are optional. I was getting excited about blind spot monitoring, heated steering wheel and adaptive cruise control until I realised I didn't have those ;-( Not sure what the official name for the colour is but it's a gorgeous dark metallic blue with beige and grey interior and piano blank wood trim. I love it. Still getting used to the power though, it's a bit quick compared to my previous car (a Megane convertible).
  10. Thanks for that Tats. Obviously my manual is slightly different, as it doesn't mention that. But at least it's not a fault. Regards
  11. Hi everyone. I'm Graham and I've just bought my first ever Jag. It's a used XF 3.0 Diesel S Portfolio. And I'm loving it, although it's taking me a while to figure everything out. I do however have one potential issue. Hopefully someone can help. Should the 2010 Portfolio model have Voice Control as standard? I have a button on the steering wheel. But the manual says pressing the button should cause a tone to sound and the word 'Listening' to appear on the message centre. When I press it, it mutes the stereo, but I get no tone, or any message. I've tried saying a few words anyway but it doesn't respond. I'm just unsure as to whether it's faulty or simply not fitted to my car. The car is still under manufacturer warranty until 18th Sep. so I want to get it sorted if it is a fault. Any help greatly appreciated.
