  1. it is a very nervous time, like being in the dentist waiting room..... Mine sailed through last August with 75,000 miles on a late 2002. Happy days.
  2. thanks Peter, will give them a call. Will post here to give feedback if use them.
  3. Just in case anyone else looks at this feed. I fitted a HID kit to my headlights about 8 months ago, I bought it off e-bay for around £45. A bit fiddly to fit due to access but made such a difference to the level of illumination at night. Yes, it could technically fail an MOT but I had no such issues when I went for mine.
  4. Anyone know of a good independent garage in wigan/bolton area at all?
  5. Hi, I have a late 2002 S type 3.0 auto with 85,000 miles and I am seeing conflicting messages regarding whether it is a good idea to undertake an oil change on the gearbox or not. I have approached two garages who have refused to touch it as they say it is very difficult and requires linking to a laptop to complete and they do not have the necessary software. I am getting the issue of 'clunking' into first gear when pulling away and when I tow my caravan it seems a little 'notchy' on each gear change. What I am basically asking is; 1. Is it worth changing the oil? 2. Is this oil very special, if so what spec should I go for? 3. Do I need to change any filters at the same time? 4. Can it be attempted by DIY (is it accessable) or does it need specialised assistance? Any advise would be helpful as I am getting very confused!!!!
  6. I fitted the second hand module I bought from e-bay and all is now fine again I must have shorted something inside it, you would have thought that the fuses were there to protect it!! Trailer wiring all fine as well. I have fitted a few tow bars and wiring in my time but this car was the worst and took the longest to do!!!
  7. Thanks for the welcome and the reply. It is definitely not the bulbs as not changed them and they all work fine all the time. I was testing voltages for fitting towbar electrics and I obviously shorted something. Changed the blown fuse but still does not work so I have ordered a rear electronic module as think this may be the fault... will let you know.
  8. Can anyone advise why my right hand tail lights are staying on even when ignition off and car locked? I found fuse 53 (10AMP) had blown, replaced but lights still on. Not sure what to check next. I have even detached battery to see if it resets anything but to no avail. The only message on the dash is 'rear tail light failed'
