  1. Many thanks David for your reply. I will go to ebay and try this. I will let you know the outcome
  2. I have a 2004 2.7 diesel with 171.000 on the clock. Recently I suffered lack of power on pulling away and on kick down. I put the car into my local Jaguar garage and they said it was an EGR valve fault and possibly a turbo fault. They have changed the EGR valve along with a pipe and clip and a side light bulb at a cost of £ 1054.00. The fault is still there and they say a turbo needs to be renewed at a cost of £2900.00. To say the least I was gob smacked at the cost. My question is, how hard is it to change the turbo if I bought a second hand turbo and did the work myself. Or can someone point me in the right direction for a cheaper quote.
  3. Many thanks Peter. I will try this site. Yes, welcome Jamie. Regards ajf
  4. Does anyone know how difficult it is to change the glow plugs on my 2.7 diesel and the method to carry out this procedure? ajf
  5. I'm looking into to changing the prop shaft.
  6. Many thanks for your input. Someone else mentioned the prop shaft or part of it. Did you change the whole shaft or part of it?
  7. Thanks Peter. I'll try the proper diesel and might have a terra clean in the spring. Anthony
  8. Many thanks. Forgot to say my car is a 2.7 diesel and is not misfiring.
  9. When I put my foot down, especially on a hill there is a vibration. It will stop as soon as I reach cruising speed. Any ideas what may be causing this? My car has done 165000 miles.
  10. I have sorted my problem of the hand brake sticking simply by fitting a new battery. My hand brake brake has'nt stuck once since. I'll keep all your other suggestions for future reference, just in case. Tony
  11. Hi Mick, I own an S Type 2.7 diesel 2004/5. Great car apart from a sticky handbrake. Tony
  12. My handbrake sticks on now and again. This only happens when I first start the car from cold! By switching off the engine and locking the car it seems to reset itself. Does anyone know why this happens and, if so how can I stop this? Tony
  13. Thanks Trevor, I will look into getting the throttle housing cleaned. If this cures the problem i'll post the result.
  14. Hi Trevor. No, no warning lights come on at all. As I said, once I pull away and under revs she's as sweet as! Tony
  15. Hi Guys, from a cold start my engine runs really rough like a miss fire when the engine revs are on idle. If I pull away and increase the revs it's fine. It's also fine after warming up slightly. Has anybody else come across this problem. My engine has completed 161.000 miles and I have recently had the EGR valves cleaned and had a terraclean?
  16. Hope I am not to late to get a free sticker. Member: ajf
  17. Hi Tim, many thanks for your post on my problem of paint matching. I will now go and tell my garage that there are three shades of MDZ and hopefully they can find the third shade. I will keep you posted. Tony.
  18. Hi Geoff. Thanks for your reply. The garage have the paint code from the front passanger door jamb and have obtained two lots of the paint that is marked on the label. However both paints are of differnt shades of silver/platingnum. The garage and paint suppliers are saying that the TDV6 was released in 2005 and my car was regestered in 2004? and some how the paint sprayed on my car is of a differnt make. How can I find details on this paint if this is the case.
  19. I have a 2004 TDV6 2.7 and my local garage are having trouble with matching the existing paint colour which is silver. Has anyone else come up against this problem and if so did they sort it?
