  1. Hi everyone, Got to get 2 new back tyres 245/45/R18 for my jaguar XF 3.0D Narrowed it down to Dunlop SP Sport 01 at £130 per tyre or Dunlop SP Sport Maxx RT at £135 per tyre. Was wondering if anyone has had these tyres and what your preferences are. Also has anyone got an opinion on Vredestein ultrac Vorti tyres. Your help is appreciated.
  2. Hi, i'm in the same situation. I need 2 back tyres for my XF 3.0D, tyre size is slightly different at 245/45/R18. Don't know whether to go for Dunlop SP Sport 01 or Dunlop SP Sport Maxx RT. Been to local garage and there is not much difference in the price of these tyres at £130/£135 per tyre fitted. Also noticed online Vredesein Ultrac Vorti tyres are recommended but know very little about these tryes. Any advice appreciated.
  3. Hi Trevor. It was a water leak travelling across some cross section into the rear junction/relay box (in the boot) causing corrosion on the contacts. They had to fix the problem where the water was coming in and replace the relay box. seems ok now fingers crossed. Got the impression from the Jaguar Assist guy I phoned when this first happened, that he new what this fault was before he even saw the car. so he must have come across it before. mark.
  4. Hi got a jaguar xf 3.0D on a 10 plate, had it for 4 weeks now. Strange problem just happened, car was parked outside, neighbour knocked the door to tell me my hazard lights were flashing, (No alarm had gone off) couldn't knock them off any way I tried so phoned jag assist who sent out an AA man who was on the line to jag assist guy. Only way they were able to knock the lights off was to disconnect the battery and then reattach it. Basically a reset. Got to take the car down to Jag in the morning to see what the problem is, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
  5. Hi all. Thought i'd just say hello. After being a Ford man (boo) all my life just upgraded to a car i'v wanted since they came out a Jaguar XF 3.0D (10 plate). Having had it for only 2 weeks I have already decided that this is the car i'm going to keep forever. Only trouble is that I think I might have to go see a doctor as my cheek bones are hurting from the grin iv had from ear to ear for the past 2 weeks :) . Mark
  6. Hi the best wax you could possibly get is called Boora Carnauba wax, have a look on Amazon, it's not cheap though its selling for £22 on there. Don't take my word for it have a look at all the reviews, there's not one bad one. Mark
  7. Hi sorry if this topic has been covered before but i'm new to this website. Just wondering if anyone out there has done a fuel efficiency test to see if you get better mileage when using the car in auto or driving with the paddles. Reason I ask is that I havn't driven an auto for over 20 years and my XF seems to rev higher before changing up in auto than I can do using the paddles. Got a 3.0 diesel by the way. Getting about 34 to the gallon in auto mainly urban bypass driving at around 50mph. Thanks.
  8. Hi Bicky. I just bought a Jaguar XF two weeks ago and had the same problem, didn't want to rely on the can of foam. Jaguar quoted me £450 plus vat for a space saver and wheel kit which is ridiculous. Bear with me this is what I did. The wheels I have are 245/45/18. Measured across one of my wheels to see if it would fit in the wheel well in the boot (only just). Bought an alloy rim same as I got on my car from ebay cost £150. Bought a tyre locally, cheap one as its a spare, cost fitted was £55. Next you need a wheel retaining bolt which you can pick up online for £12. This wont be the right size as it's designed for a space saver, but you can either get it cut down or put a block of wood with a 8mm hole drilled through it and brace the wheel down. Lastly got a jack and wheel brace from ebay at a cost of £15. Total cost £232 for a full size spare wheel. When you take the liner out of your boot well make sure the wheel will fit (i'v read on hear that some models got an amp eating into the space, mine hasn't). I put the wheel face down and tightened the bolt through the wood to secure the wheel, you can either buy a boot organizer to store the jack and brace but what I did was buy a piece of high density foam cut to size for the inside of the wheel (ebay) and cut out the shapes for the jack nd brace. Sorry this is a bit long but I put in as much detail as possible, if you need any of the websites I used please let me know. Any comments welcome.
