  1. I had the same DSC fault, went to my local indie - The Jag Centre in Spixworth, Norwich, and he plugged in his computer, calibrated the ABS - Fixed. He did it at the same time he was programming my key fobs.
  2. Wow that was worse than the one on my car LOL. I went home for lunch and the battery arrived, good timing. I changed the battery, what a difference in size, even the wife commented on it ;) but light is still flashing :( annoyingly the user manual and workshop manual both state that it is safe to drive with it flashing or even with the error message, but I believe it will fail MOT which is due on 22nd Sept. Might be a trip to local indie Jag repair J-CAT in Norwich.
  3. Me too, I am still working on a solution, I have cleaned all wheel sensors, Checked Brake pressure transducer with multmeter Checked all DSC conectors. Apparently a dodgy battery ie low voltage can be responsible for quite a few anomalies, having checked my battery I found it was an AA temporary one, suitable for an ASTRA in normal use!!!!! waiting for new battery from "Battery Megastore" being delivered today hopefully. Also disconnecting the battery and reconnecting (Hard Reset) can fix some problems, just like computers Ha! turn it off and back on. I will let you know my progress.
  4. Hiya Keith, As far as I can tell, it is part of the ABS module, under the bonnet, front righthand corner next to windscreen washer bottle. Do you have a DSC System Unavailable message?
  5. Morning everyone, Does anyone know where the DSC Module is located on my 2001 S-Type Thanks
  6. So I braved Hurrican Bertha this morning (well actually, Here on the east coast, it was just a breeze) and was all ready to record my fiddly method of getting my Android - ELM - Jag to talk to each other, BUT it worked as it should!!! sods law, although I didn't complain :) But after reading your post again Simon it would not help anyway, as yours is USB .. Doh! :)
  7. Can anyone help please? My 2001 S-Type was/is random misfiring, but I can make it worse by driving at prolonged speed above 60ish and sometimes EML will flash, if I slowed down flashing stopped. So I had a Terraclean service, but there was no improvement with the misfiring Then last week, driving at 80 caused EML to flash then stay on. My ELM327 detected OBD Error codes as below P0201 - Fuel injector 1/1 circuit malfunction P0202 - Fuel injector 1/2 circuit malfunction P0204 - Fuel injector 2/1 circuit malfunction P0205 - Fuel injector 2/2 circuit malfunction P0206 - Fuel injector 2/3 circuit malfunction P0301 - Misfire detected – cylinder 1 (1/1) P1132 Lack of HO2S Switch - Sensor Indicates Rich Could these all have a common cause? I don’t know when/if the coils were replaced and was thinking of getting them done. Any advice would be appreciated.
  8. I have the ELM blootooth one and the "Torque" android App. It is fiddly to get it to talk but I have been successful twice now AND managed to clear the fault code. I have an intermittent DSC fault so I will connect again and record what I do and post info.
  9. Yep I tried toothpaste on one of my headlights and it made a difference. I only did the one just to try and see if there was any noticeable difference, took about 45 minutes of rubbing with hard sponge and cheap Poundland Smokers toothpaste and water mister. I am going to have to do the others now, but try and get an attachment for my drill to make it easier :)
  10. Just had my local garage check mine, just for piece of mind !!!!!!!! glad I did, N/S was fine, Drivers side had to have inner AND outer sills replaced. I am gonna waxoil them both now.
  11. Only ever seen one, yours (I think), a few times on my way to work. If it is you then I think you work near to where I do and maybe live in same area BC!! :)
  12. I have a bluetooth Elm327 that worked fine with an android Torque app on my previous car a Rover 75, but it doesn't even light up in my S Type. My Jags OBDII socket has only 7 populated contacts of the 16 available. I am looking to get a JLM Mangoose V131 ( I have read somewhere that version works with earlier 2001 Jags) www.carsets.co.uk
  13. Welcome Sparky, I too have just got myself my first ever Jag and am loving it :D
  14. Thanks guys, Yes peter, I am rather enjoying my sedate drives around Norfolk :) Thanks for the advise Geoff, I'm glad I took my time choosing, until I found the one I wanted, local too.

    Reg's S-Type

Starting this early with pics from before I bought her.
  16. S-Type and I in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
  17. I took possession of my S-Type 3.0 SE 22nd Feb 2014 so after just 1 week, I am still in total awe of the whole jag driving experience, can't imagine my enthusiasm fading either :D
  18. OK, change of plan from diesel, well change of a few things really. It is now .... Hello from Burgh Castle in Great Yarmouth ... AND I got myself an S-Type last Saturday as an early Birthday pressie :D AND I AM LOVING IT I decided on a 3.0 petrol in the end as I now live a lot closer to work, and I am not doing as many miles as I was. She is a 2001 (May) SE in Saphire Blue and Beige leather interior, and considering she is gonna be a teenager in a couple of months she is in very good condition. She has spent a few years in Dereham, Norfolk until recently. I have her booked in for a mini service next week, oil and filter and check the brakes, stuff I can't do :( As I have never had a Jag before, or even a 3.0 Lt engined car, there are 1 or 2 things I am not sure about, but they don't feel/appear to be urgent. Does the club have any meets around the Norfolk/Suffolk area, I was hoping there might be, where I could go along and get some advice from the experts :) I will have a go at posting a photo when I find out how.
